Kingdom Notes #4: Edmund the Leper

[p]Welcome, Fellow Warriors![/p][p]Today, we would like to introduce you to our new hero, but first, let’s talk a bit about heroes in general. [/p][p]We want each hero to feel unique and offer a different playstyle. To show these differences, you’ll see a comparison with a familiar hero, Richard, whenever you meet someone new.[/p]
Edmund the Leper
[p]Edmund was once a cruel and heartless tyrant, but his life changed after a terrible disease left him scarred. He realized that everything he once fought for was pointless. Edmund saw his illness and the rise of the undead as signs guiding him to his true purpose. With clerics and other followers of the Light, he began his sacred crusade.[/p][p][/p]
Personal Artifact
[p]Edmund carries the Chaplain’s Staff, an artifact given to him by the Council of the Church of Light as a sign of trust and blessing.[/p][p]With this staff, Edmund gets a bonus to his Faith stat for every Mage unit in his army.[/p][p]This powerful artifact gives the hero extra stats so that you can use your other equipment slots for different items.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Unique Tiles
[p]Two of Edmund's three tiles are mainly for boosting his stats, but they work in a tricky way. You'll need to meet special conditions to get these strong bonuses. The last tile lets you trade some of your stats for faster unit growth.[/p][p]Which path will you choose? Will you boost your power and win with a small squad, or give up some stats to build a huge army?[/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p]
Army
[p]Because of his artifact, Edmund works best with mages and clerics in his army. Still, you might find a way to make all your warriors count as mages. The artifact also works exceptionally well with Paladins, making them a strong choice for early strategies.[/p][p][/p]
Hero Comparison
[p]Richard relies on strong units that are easy and cheap to get in large numbers. Edmund, on the other hand, has a harder time building his army. But it's easier for him to quickly boost his stats and equip red items that help him use those stats well.[/p][p]Tiles add their own features to the game. Richard's tiles are similar to each other, serve the same purpose, and are easy to use. Edmund's tiles, though, can make the game much harder if you don't use them carefully.[/p][p][/p]
Demo Coming Soon
[p]Just a gentle reminder! Demo will be available on January 15th, 2026! Mark your calendars, add to your wishlist & fight for your Kingdom!

Kingdom Notes #3: Richard Ironhand

[p]We are getting ready for the demo and working hard to make your adventure as easy as possible. While we don't have a set date yet, we want to share a bit about the characters you can play in Kingdom Loop.[/p][p][/p]
Richard Ironhand
[p]A stern and unyielding ruler, Richard holds discipline above all else. To him, the Grail's influence shattered the world's very foundation, and now he is driven by a single purpose: to restore order to a fractured realm.[/p][p][/p]
Personal artifact
[p]Richard wields the Defender's Medal, a legendary artifact passed from father to son through generations. This is no mere token of service; only those who achieve a heroic feat in defense of the kingdom can claim it.[/p][p]In Richard's grasp, the Defender's Medal empowers every frontline soldier, boosting their defense in proportion to their Will.[/p][p]This powerful relic is especially potent for Spearmen, who gain even greater strength from their Will.[/p][p][/p]
Unique tiles
[p]Every hero in the game commands three unique tiles. For Richard, each one lets you retrain your troops into mightier forms, giving you the flexibility to adapt and experiment with entirely new armies.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel]
Army
[p][/p]
[p]In Kingdom Loop, every step forward makes your opponent stronger, so finding the right balance is key. Most tiles that summon powerful units also grant your enemy significant advantages, making careless moves risky. Richard's unique tiles, however, let you field formidable warriors without empowering your foes, giving you a crucial edge on the road to victory.[/p]
[p][/p]
[p][/p][p]Richard's most vital warriors begin as humble militiamen, but he can retrain them into three distinct and powerful unit types.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[p]Build the Kingdom with us by Following & Wishlistng Kingdom Loop on Steam: [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]

Kingdom Notes #2: New combat system

[p]Imagine leading your warriors to a strategic victory in battles that feel more exhilarating and rewarding. As we prepare the demo, we want to share the progress & changes we implemented. Today, we will discuss battles in the game.[/p][p][/p]
Turn-based battles instead of auto-battlers
[p]Initially, we wanted to make battles fast and exciting, while maintaining the clarity and depth of planning characteristic of strategy games. We thought that auto-battler-style battles would be perfect for this.[/p][p]After PlayTests and reading your feedback, we realized it was hard to track how your army's strength changed from one battle to the next. The army changed from battle to battle, and since all units fought simultaneously, it was practically impossible to spot differences in effectiveness immediately.[/p][p][/p][p]We believe the transition to turn-based battles solved this problem. Now it is easier to understand how strong warriors are. By planning your moves and positioning, you can win with fewer losses.[/p][p][/p]
Initiative
[p]The “Attack Speed” will be replaced by “Initiative.” They work in a very similar way, and without going into technical details, let's just say that the more initiative a warrior has, the more often he can attack. In addition, initiative will determine the order of the warrior's moves in battle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Regards,[/p][p]DevTeam[/p][p][/p]

[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Kingdom Notes #1: Turn-Based Combat, Quests & Loot
Hello Fellow Knights (or Undead!)
[p]We are constantly working on the game and would like to inform you about the main changes you can expect in the demo.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Turn-Based Combat System
[p]Now you will be able to understand better how effective your army is and what role factors, such as positioning, characteristics, and more! It's always nice to be able to give precise commands to your troops! :summer2021rpg:[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
More Item Variety
[p]Before, if you wanted an item that gave your hero both Strength and Dexterity, you couldn't find one because it didn't exist. Now, you can get items with any mix of traits, which lets you try out many new strategies.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Quest System
[p]This new system will replace the old tutorial and help you get started. The game can be challenging to learn, so we hope this makes it easier for you to pick up.[/p][p][/p]
Bug Fixes and Improvements
[p]We’ve made numerous improvements and fixed many bugs. Sometimes, new changes can lead to new issues. If you notice anything unusual in the upcoming demo, please let us know.[/p][p][/p]
Full version
[p]Our main effort is going into new heroes and the Undead faction, which you’ll be able to play when the full game launches. Each faction will feature four heroes who also act as bosses, and each will require a unique approach to defeat.[/p][p][/p][p]Hear you soon! ~Dev Team[/p]
