Preparing for Early Access!

[p][/p][p]Greetings Cascadiers,[/p][p]The team has been hard at work and have LOADS to share with you on what we have been cooking up over the last few months.[/p][p]We have been testing the game internally and gathering feedback on the current state of the gameplay. We have identified several key mechanics of the game that were not working as intended, so we have spent some time adjusting these and adding more to the game. [/p][p]The main way we wanted players to score points was by pushing coins off the platform to earn tickets, but due to the amount of coins on the platform and the current abilities in the game, we found that not many were being pushed off. In fact, the main way that players would earn coins would be to hit the pegs as the coins fell down, which raised some flags. To tackle this, we decided to remove the points you get from hitting the pegs. We decided that collecting coins is the best way to earn points and is a more fun experience, along with landing in the side tunnels and completing quests. We are still tinkering with this and would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section. To balance the loss of points from the pegs, we have made it so more coins appear on the platform during each round. We are currently testing the best amounts, so the game continues to be engaging and challenging.[/p][p]We’ve also worked on adding a variety of new abilities, which we think will really affect the gameplay experience in a positive way. The abilities focus on disruption and introducing even more coins to the play field, allowing you to hit those big scores!

New Level, quests, shop, trinkets & abilities

[p]Greetings Cascadiers,[/p][p]We've been hard at work adding some pieces to the game that we are really excited to share with you.[/p][p][/p][p]Alongside a brand new wind-themed level, we have a number of new things to look out for in the demo. You can unlock brand new abilities including one of our favourites: 'Make It Rain' that causes coins to materialise from the sky and rain down on the field.[/p][p][/p][p]Also we have done an overhaul to the shop and added the ability to upgrade your cards and buy new ones, making your deck even more powerful.[/p][p][/p][p]+Added Gamepad controls: You can now use a controller to navigate menus and for core gameplay[/p][p]+New music and sounds[/p][p]+New VFX[/p][p]+Loads of bug fixes[/p][p][/p]

We are in Steam Next Fest! Try out our demo and share your feedback

[p]Greetings Cascadiers,[/p][p][/p][p]Super excited to announce that we are live in Steam Next Fest right now with our early demo for our game "The Cascadier". Enter the Enchanted Arcade and meet Fortuna, the Custodian and Theodan as you play empowered coins to earn supernatural abilities and beat Fortunas gambits.[/p][p][/p][p]The demo currently is very early in our development cycle and the final game will be a vast improvement on all fronts. Features in the demo right now are:[/p]
  • [p]1 machine, the fully playable first level - "Fortuna's Gambit"[/p]
  • [p]Discover and unlock 3 trinkets to level them up[/p]
  • [p]A selection of ability cards useable in-game to empower your coins[/p]
[p][/p][p]We plan to add for completion of the full game:[/p]
  • [p]First Coin Meta Progression where you earn ongoing experience each time you play a very special coin[/p]
  • [p]21 more unlockable Trinkets with meta progression themed on each machines element[/p]
  • [p]Tonnes more elemental themed abilities unlocked by completing each machine[/p]
  • [p]7 more elemental themed machines showing pieces of Fortunas journey to becoming a god, culminating in an exciting face off with her antagonistic god-brother, Theodan[/p]
  • [p]Further cutscenes and story development to further expand on the universe and characters[/p]
  • [p]Immersive music that reacts to how you play, getting stronger as your score goes up and Euphoria charges[/p]

Minor Hotfix!

[p]Greetings Cascadiers![/p][p][/p][p]We updated our demo build this week to fix a few minor issues and make the play experience more stable.
