A Fresh Look & the First Magical Tomes

Hello librarians! 🧙‍♂️📚

This last weeks, I’ve been working on a full UI overhaul to make your librarian life smoother, clearer — and just a bit more magical. You’ll now notice a revamped bookshelf view, a cleaner inventory, and a compact display of reader requests directly in the HUD.

Everything is designed to help you focus on what matters most: managing a chaotic magical library and keeping your readers satisfied.

📚 I’ve also started adding the very first books to the game!
For now, you’ll only find a few from two magical schools: Pyromancy and Hydromancy. But don’t worry — many more schools of magic are coming soon, each with its own flavor, quirks, and surprises.

This is just the beginning of the library’s collection, and I can’t wait to show you what else is waiting behind the shelves.

📝 I’m still hard at work building this world, and your support means a lot.
If you haven’t yet, don’t forget to wishlist the game — it helps me tremendously as a solo dev!

Development is still in progress, and early playable versions will come as soon as the core loop is ready.

The Librarian is evolving – Wishlist it now!

Hello librarians! 🧙‍♂️📚

We’re taking a major step forward — The Librarian is no longer just a quick arcade-style experience. The game is evolving into a full magical library simulation!

The original version of The Librarian was a short, time-based solo game inspired by Overcooked: deliver spellbooks, beat the timer, and don’t mess up your enchantments!

But now, we’re shifting gears. Here’s what’s changing:

You’ll play as the full-time librarian of a magical archive. Your job is to bring the right spellbooks to your wizard customers — but only if they’re allowed to access them. Some spells are dangerous, some customers are unpredictable, and magic doesn’t always behave.

The gameplay now focuses on long-term management, reputation, and progression. As your library grows, you’ll unlock new books, meet regular clients, handle magical incidents, and expand your space with new rooms and furniture.

Visually, the game moves to 3D environments with a fixed camera, while keeping 2D pixel art characters. It’s a stylized blend that brings atmosphere and charm, especially with the day-night cycle in motion.

Development is still in progress, and early playable versions will come as soon as the core loop is ready.
