Dev Update #5 - Many Updates and Happy Holidays!

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]As the year comes to a close, development on Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior continues at full speed. Over the past weeks we’ve been focusing not only on expanding the world, but also on deepening exploration systems, lore-driven progression, and optional content.[/p][p][/p][h3]New Areas and Exploration[/h3][p]We’re building new areas that expand the game’s world and encourage exploration. These zones introduce new layouts, traversal challenges, and hidden routes, with a strong focus on atmosphere and discovery.[/p][p][/p][h3]New Skill and Lore Progression[/h3][p]We’re currently implementing a brand-new player skill that’s designed to feel deeply connected to the Voivod universe. It’s primarily tied to lore and exploration, opening new paths, revealing hidden elements, and adding a fresh layer to how players interact with the world. (No spoilers yet, but we can’t wait to show it.)[/p][p][/p][h3]Side Quests and Voivod-Themed Collectibles[/h3][p]Alongside the main progression, we’re adding side quests and rare collectibles inspired by the metal scene and Voivod’s dystopian mythology. These optional elements reward curious players, deepen the worldbuilding, and give completionists some truly unique things to hunt for.[/p][p][/p][h3]Enemies and Boss Encounters[/h3][p]We’ve introduced new enemies and we’re also expanding the roster of bosses. Below you can see a preview of one of the new bosses currently in development, along with some of its animations. These encounters are being designed to feel memorable, unsettling, and distinctly “Voivodian.”[/p][p][/p][h3]Ongoing Polish[/h3][p]We’re also refining movement feel, responsiveness, balance, and bug fixing across the prototype to keep pushing overall quality forward.[/p][p][/p][h3]How You Can Help[/h3][p]We’re a small indie team, and support from players makes a real difference:[/p]

Dev Update #04 – New Content + Prototype Trailer V2

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]Development on Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior has been moving forward steadily, and over the past month we’ve focused on expanding and polishing many aspects of the game. Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been working on:[/p]
  • [p]New areas added to broaden the world and atmosphere[/p]
  • [p]New enemies, all hand-animated pixel by pixel[/p]
  • [p]A first pass on skills and abilities[/p]
  • [p]Visual and animation improvements across the board[/p]
  • [p]Bug fixing and general gameplay refinement[/p]
  • [p]A new, more dynamic approach to music and sound integration[/p]

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]It’s been a month since Gamescom, and development on Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior has kept moving forward at full speed. Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on:[/p]
  • [p]New enemies and areas — we’ve been expanding the world with fresh designs, each one animated by hand, pixel by pixel. Here’s a GIF of one of the new enemies in action:

  • [p]Beta testing the prototype — thanks to our backers who joined the beta program, we’ve been gathering early feedback to refine mechanics, balance combat, and improve the overall flow.   • [p]Bug fixing — the usual but important process of polishing and removing rough edges.[/p]

5,000 Wishlists and Counting! + Gamescom Reflections

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]We’ve recently passed an important milestone: Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior has now been added to over 5,000 Steam wishlists! A huge thank you to all of you who’ve already shown your support. Every wishlist helps boost visibility on Steam, which in turn brings more eyes to the project. Please keep spreading the word: word-of-mouth makes a big difference for indie titles like ours.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Last week we had the chance to showcase the game at Gamescom 2025, the world’s largest videogame fair. For the occasion we built a new prototype, polishing gameplay, mechanics, art, and sound to make sure the slice we showed was representative of where we’re headed. Seeing people play the game directly was incredibly valuable: it gave us feedback on what feels right, what can be improved, and what excites players the most. We’ve already started integrating those insights into development.[/p][p][/p][p]We also want to share a new piece of content with you: the Title Screen, featuring the very first moments when launching the game, complete with a new arrangement of Holographic Thinking track by Voivod. This screen will set the tone for your journey every time you step into Voivod’s dark, dystopian multiverse.
