With just over a week to go, keep watch over the official Elite Dangerous social channels, Forums and here on site for updates on further information regarding the expected schedule for the release on the day, along with any additional information to carry you through to the big moment.

The month of November is spinning along quite nicely.
We hope you had great weekend just passed and welcome you into yet another week rolling into the Galaxy.

GAME NEWS

On Saturday afternoon (UTC), some Commanders attempting to enter the Galaxy via Steam were facing an issue whereby their Steam login was replaced with the ‘purchase/redeem’.

• We are aware that this issue has been encountered sporadically before and primarily advise that, should it happen again in the future, that you do not take action against your account linking in order to independently fix the issue but await further information via official Elite Dangerous channels, as to when communication between Steam and the Galaxy has been restored.

Additionally, regarding Update 14, we’ll keep this note in once again, to maintain confirmation:

• Update 14 is still marked for release at the end of November. We would like to reassure you that there is no further change to this schedule as of this week and hope to release a formal date for your diary soon.

A hugely impressive new mod launched on Saturday for Elite, as in the first Elite, from the eighties, for BBC Micro computers. As its name suggests, the Elite Universe Editor lets you create your own space in the seminal spaceship sim, placing planets and stars and stations and tweaking ships and such. For this to come after almost 40 years...! PC gaming is an endless delight.

We're full throttle right now with Halloween happenings throughout the Galaxy and it's thrilling to see so very many Commanders getting well and truly in the spirit of spooky.

So let's go again! Here's welcoming you into another Monday with this week’s Discovery Scanner.

GAME NEWS:

• As mentioned in last week’s Discovery Scanner, Update 14 is marked for release at the end of November. We would like to reassure you that there is no further change to this schedule as of this week.
  
• We were made aware last week that some a number of Commanders (4.0 Horizons players specifically) encountered issues with the livery store in-game displaying "requires Odyssey" for many cosmetics, when this strictly wasn’t true.
  This issue has since been addressed, with the in-game livery store now representing items correctly.
  
• A number of reports were received around the Noctule Blight paint job, which features as part of the recent Creator Twitch Drops event for the Cobra MkIII, being unavailable in the in game livery after successfully redeeming it via Twitch.
  We took a look into this. If Commanders who are still encountering this issue could relog, this issue will now be resolved.
