Console Copy Process.

Last week we released the latest information around this month’s Console Copy Process, which includes an early, high level release plan in mind for the launch.

As always, thank you for your feedback and for continuing to support one another with thoughts and suggestions on the official Elite Dangerous Forums in the dedicated post. We will continue to farm open questions and respond accordingly.

Naturally we’ll be back ahead of the week commencing September 12th with even more specifics.

Additionally, we are preparing information around that of the expected ‘4.0’ process for Elite Dangerous Odyssey and Horizons.

Following your thoughts regarding Elite Dangerous '4.0' access on PC, we released our latest response FAQ which we hope will help add more clarity to key questions that arose from the initial announcement.

Communications Pending...

In light of our expansion on further details regarding access to 4.0, we're happy to confirm that we aim execute the plan to roll this out to all Commanders next month, September 2022.

Our plan also remains in place for the Console migration to PC strategy, to also take place this coming September.

A busy month ahead, for sure.

We will of course issue specific information for both events ahead of their roll out, so do watch out for that as we communicate out across the site, Forum, and official social channels.

Actually, there were two bangs in Update 13: the first was the firing of a superweapon in an attempt to destroy the alien Thargoids… quickly followed by the second bang of the Thargoids totally not being destroyed and blowing that superweapon into space-smithereens...

Sci-fi space flight sim Elite Dangerous’ director has owned up that the game uses noise from recordings of actual space. David Braben said that Frontier Developments incorporate audio from projects such as the British Antactic Survey’s Halley Research Station, which is where the data was collected that revealed that classic environmental disaster, the hole in the ozone layer. Braben’s revelation was prompted by the recent public acknowledgement from NASA that, yes, people really can hear screams in space. Sort of.
