Year 6 of Rainbow Six Siege promises to be a big one, and it's already kicked off with the reveal of not only Operation Crimson Heist, but also a look at what players can expect throughout the next 12 months.

Included in Ubisoft's Future of Siege presentation was the Year 6 roadmap, outlining the new operators and map reworks players can expect with each of the four seasons. As we all now know from its big reveal, Operation Crimson Heist's Flores is the new Argentinian operator for Season 1, and Border is the map that has received a makeover.

In Season 2, we will be getting a new operator with an interesting background. This operator will originate from the Nakoda, an indigenous people from North America, mainly in western Canada. The design and lore of this operator is certainly going to be exciting to see. Season 2 will also see a casual map, Favela, receive a rework.

Rainbow Six Siege's ranked system rework aims for better "sense of progression"

For a long time now, Ubisoft has been locked in an everlasting battle with players intent on ruining the competitive experience of Rainbow Six Siege. From cheating, to smurfing, to general toxicity, the tactical shooter has a lot on its plate - but hopefully not for much longer.

That's because there's a whole host of changes coming this year as part of Operation Crimson Heist and beyond that should reduce the amount of toxicity in Rainbow Six Siege ranked matches. The first is the reputation system, which, following extensive behind the scenes checks, is going to be fully implemented for Rainbow Six Siege Year 6. The system has five levels (from 0-5) and will sanction and reward players based on their behaviour.

The system is fluid meaning players will move in and out of negative, neutral, and positive standing depending on their behaviour - but there are some rewards in place to encourage players to be good, effective teammates. Ubisoft hasn't confirmed what the rewards will be, but it has confirmed that these rewards will be removed if a player moves from positive to negative standing.

The Rainbow Six Siege reveal for Operation Crimson Heist is now over and in between lots of exciting news about Rainbow Six Siege's streaming mode and plans for the future of the game, we've finally got our first proper look at new Argentinian operator, Flores.

Ubisoft has teased the cunning two-speed, two armour attacker for the last week or so now, but, as customary with seasonal reveals, the full picture was held back. But now, it's finally been confirmed: Flores is the operator who's managed to strap a timed explosive device to a drone.

It's a gadget that's been talked about for a long time in the Siege community, but it's got a few unusual features. Before we get into that though, let's talk about Flores' background. Flores hails from the criminal underworld in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he worked to pay for his mother's medical bills. Although he went on to study engineering at university, he struggled with authority, and went back to his roots - except this time he stole from the rich. Shortly after that, Flores was recruited for the Siege team where his explosive gadget and powerful loadout certainly comes in useful.

Rainbow Six Siege: Crimson Heist's new operator is Flores

Ubisoft has officially revealed the new operator for Rainbow Six Siege: Crimson Heist. The attacker, Flores, will be joining the game soon, and we'll have a lot more detail on what to expect at the reveal event this weekend. But as ever, Rainbow Six Siege leaks abound, so there's plenty of extremely likely details already out there.

But first, the official word. A very brief new teaser trailer shows Flores in a dark room, remotely controlling a wheeled drone. "Getting the job done often requires a... creative approach," Flores says, before triggering the drone to explode and kill some off-screen enemies. "That's where I come in."

This matches up with the leaks from dataminer benjaminstrike last year, which indicated a drone gadget called the 'RCE-Ratero'. You hit the button, a timer counts down for five seconds, and then the drone explodes like C4. That's been long enough ago that the gameplay details might've changed, but it's a pretty good indication of what we should expect when Flores goes live.
