Version 1.4, backstory chapters engine

[p]Release 1.4 is here! This update introduces new backstory and worldbuilding chapters that appear in dungeons, cities, and when you rent a room at the inn. As requested by some players, these additions offer deeper insight into the characters of Tamzyn and Sioul, as well as the game world itself.[/p][h3]🧭 What are they and what are they for?[/h3][p]These are short narrative chapters without choices, where you simply witness conversations between the characters. They reveal important details for later in the game and help you understand the world and its inhabitants more deeply.[/p][h3]šŸ’ž Relationship Points[/h3][p]Some chapters in dungeons and cities will grant relationship points, while all chapters at the inn will give trust points. These stats will play a role in future story developments and may influence how certain events unfold.[/p][h3]🧠 The Key Concept[/h3][p]The most important part of this update is the new engine that allows me to add these chapters using images with facial expressions, paired with the writing. This gives the game more emotional depth, while keeping it fun and immersive. As you can see, the game can now grow in depth (like this update) or in size (by adding new places, monsters, or features).[/p][h3]šŸ› ļø What I'm working on now[/h3][p]I’ve been writing chapters for the main quest, which I plan to implement next. I might add some jobs first—or somewhere along the way. Still deciding. 1.3.2 bugfix update

- Fixed bugs in Blessing and Dryads scenes, so if you reached 18 in a stat, the blessing will go to another stat. If all stats are on 18, you are notified that the gods or dryads can't bless you anymore.
- Fixed bug if you already had learned a spell from a scroll, you can't re-learn it. You will be notified that you can sell the scroll.
- Fix for players that learned the same spell several times, so the extra duplicates are deleted.

1.3.1 bugfix for map and gold on inventory. Important please update

Hi! I made a fix of some bugs. They are quite important, so please update: (if it's on auto it will auto update when you open Steam.

AVOIDING PLAYER STUCK
- Fixes on the map: to avoid having players stuck, I've changed some places that were not working good and had no exits or ways to go back.
- The only places that you can't even approach without keys are now 3: Thornworm Ruins (because it is the barrier against the Paranormal Entities), Palace of the Dryads (because it may be a place to expand the map south), and Emerald City (because it may be a place to expand the map north).
- In the rest, if they need a key, you can approach and then, even if you can't enter because you don't have the key, you will be able to skip it and go to another place.
- Mansion of Dreams now connects to Golden Caverns (and to Thornworm if you have the key)
- Arcanopolis not connected to Mansion of Dreams, because being a city, you could travel between these two and boost your stats without any difficulty and that would otherwise ruin the game balance.
- Arcanopolis now connects to Verdant Grotto only.
PLEASE IF YOU FIND YOURSELF SOMEWHERE THAT YOU CAN'T GET OUT, TELL ME!

- Now you can take gold coins in Loot even if you don't have space in your inventory, as they go to gold and not to the backpack.


Update 1.3: Procedural missions!

[p]Hi adventurers![/p][p]In this update, 1.3, I've added the engine for procedural quests. They are called "jobs" inside the game.[/p][p]Basically a NPC approaches you and asks you to do something. They will pay you gold if you accomplish the mission.[/p][p]If you change your mind and for some reason you don't want to complete the mission, you can quit it. For that, click on the text of the quests briefings, and choose to quit.[/p][p]Now you will find delivery missions, but I will add more types next. Like defeating special monsters, bosses or sub-bosses, battling witches, rescuing someone, and more.[/p][p]With these missions you will always have something to do.[/p][p]In the meantime I will make more deep and hand made chapters and quests, including the main quests and some core secondary ones. But now you don't have to wait to have missions to do![/p][p]If you would like some kind of mission to be included, please tell![/p][p]So start updating and playing! Maps DLC Supporter Bonus Pack - And what I'm working on!

[p]Hi adventurers! As requested by some players, I've added a first DLC. It's not needed to play or a big thing. It's just the map of the places of the game, in huge size, for printing or watching in the computer.
Mostly it's also a supporter bonus pack. If you wanted to donate some money to me, this is the way, and it is great because I will save that money for the materials and things I spend on doing the game.[/p][p]Anyway, don't feel obliged, because there will be more useful DLCs like the Bestiary coming soon, or the RPG Tabletop version, maybe a novel, and so on. Just by playing you are already making me so happy! And that's why the main game is free. But if you feel extra grateful for this game, you can get it for the price of a beer and make me even happier, and you get the map, which is a cool fan art item.[/p][p]It will appear soon on the page of Caverns and Dryads, but it's still propagating so if you want to have a look, it's here:

[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]AND WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? You may ask. Well, I'm now doing this for Caverns and Dryads, to enrich the game:[/p]
  • [p]Add procedural quests (logic + randomness) of the classic type like rescue, find something, bring something, kill big monsters by demand of a king, destroy witches, etc. The kind of things that Tamzyn and Sioul between quests. This way you will always have something to do.[/p]
  • [p]Add chapters of content of some types: romance, background or situations. They will mostly introduce you to the personality of the main characters and their culture.[/p]
  • [p]The chapters may happen in the wilderness, at the cities, inn, bar... [/p]
  • [p]There will be two types of chapters of these kinds: those that are situations that repeat (with some elections and some "dice rolls" to get a reward or a problem), and others that will be one-time (more elaborate, dramatic, written and illustrated and more important for the main story).[/p]
[p]This may take me some time, and a bit of complications and problems, but not much. After that, the plan is to add some chapters vital for the main story, which will include a basic cheesy "house" (you will understand). Through the main story, hopefully the relationship of the protagonists will reach higher level, and get this way more advantages, and then houses may be fully added.

Some have asked about the regions on the north, that are closed by keys, and some other. They will be opened in quests that I'll add. Don't worry. There are monsters and horrors there that are worth a quest.[/p][p]The keys will be implemented fully on the next steps when I add the main quest.
