Node Math - Cluster Select Update
Hello everyone!
[p]I added a few worth mentioning things from the last update! Some of them you've probably seen already, as I added them successively over these few weeks.[/p][p]A short changelog below :)[/p][p][/p]
Cluster Select
[p]From now on, you can double-click (LMB) on the node, and all of the connected nodes of the same type will be selected. Along with the node-swap feature (dragging a node from "the node shop" on the selected nodes to swap them), it can be used to reduce the effort needed to maintain your factory without destroying everything over and over on each level up.[/p][p]Instead, you can create a few clusters of nodes, make output connections from them, and after the goal island level up - select whole clusters, swap numbers on them, and connect clusters differently to special islands with powerful embedded nodes on them.[/p][p](Ofc you can reuse parts of previous/other goals formulas differently, like making a big number shared by all goals and using +/- operators to adapt one to another - what fits you best!) [/p][p]Holding Shift while selecting will add the selected cluster to the selected group; Ctrl - deselect.[/p][p]Showcase: [/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]I hope it will make your life easier! I like it :)[/p][p][/p]
Endgame rebalance and bug fixing
[p]I got feedback about the endgame (last goal islands) and endless mode (unlocked after finishing all goal islands - 15 levels), that the balance was very bad, and the game couldn't handle big values.[/p][p]It is ok now :)[/p][p]I also added a few additional upgrades (like "quiz multiplier rewards freeze"), which are level-locked - you have to level up your goal islands to be able to buy them.[/p][p]Quiz Multiplier rewards are veeery powerful now![/p][p][/p]
Performance Upgrade
[p]I changed a few things, so the game is not lagging on the tutorial/hints popups first-time loading, and moving around the main menu/settings (I know it was an issue, especially on some AMD graphics cards). Only game save/load takes some time, but not that long imho.[/p][p][/p]
Other Changes
[p]There were a lot of other changes/bug fixes/improvements, but there are some honorable mentions:[/p]
 • [p]Connections to bridges (special nodes that ignore the collision) have a different color now (cyan)[/p]
 • [p]The tutorial can be pinned now, so it won't show up randomly at the beginning when you level up or do some things. It is not affecting on-hover hints (for those, you can use the info toggle button "?" in the bottom right)[/p]
 • [p]Missing on-hover hints added[/p]
 • [p]More video tutorials added (they can be accessed from the main menu - big "?" button), also some of them are forced in specific parts of the game (special islands video)[/p]
 • [p]You can copy selected nodes by right-clicking on them - it may be useful if someone is playing without a keyboard[/p]
 • [p]Resources (numbers) are grouped when you pause the game (SPACE pause the game), so it is easier to see what is going on underneath without disabling the resources view (foldable menu at the top of the screen)[/p]
 • [p]Bug fixes like phantom nodes/connections on undo/redo, ui missclicks (sometimes other buttons under tutorial view were clicked by accident) etc[/p]
 • [p]Oh, and I fixed some random hardware-dependent crashes that I didn't see on my machine (thanks for letting me know!) and added a post about Troubleshooting: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3648370/discussions/0/687489892274428841/[/p]
[p]And that's all for today! Thank you very much for your feedback, and if you have more suggestions/bug reports, feel free to let me know on the Steam Discussion or my Discord server![/p][p]Discord: https://discord.com/invite/sfgr7YCv2z[/p][p]Let me know what you think about the changes![/p][p]Have fun! :D[/p]

Node Math - v1.2.0 - Big Performance Improvements!

[p]Hello everyone! I have some news for you :D[/p]
How was the first week?
[p]Thank you all for your feedback in the first week after release! I had a lot of suggestions, bug reports, and nice conversations with a lot of players on my Discord server and Steam Discussions :)[/p][p]As a dev, I am very happy with how it goes, and I am committed to making the game the best I can! That's why the feedback is very important. Without it, I don't know what is ok and what is wrong with the game. The more I get, the better![/p][p]I worked after hours this week to address all of the critical issues the game had and add missing QoL features to make the gameplay smoother. You may have seen a few minor updates with such changes. My changelog and to-do list are publicly available on my Discord server if you want to check them out: https://discord.com/invite/sfgr7YCv2z[/p][p]There are mostly some minor, less important things left for now.[/p]
Performance Update
[p]This weekend, I focused on improving the performance of the game. I got some feedback that, especially on the later stages of the game, when there are a lot of nodes and numbers flying around, slower machines may experience very low FPS. So today, I deployed a much bigger update, v1.2.0, with a big performance boost. I hope it will work better now.[/p][p]I don’t expect too many regression issues, but if you find any new bugs caused by it, please let me know :) Performance updates are tricky as they touch a lot of code, so the regression risk is high. I tested it a lot though :D[/p][p]One of the visible changes (there were a lot of changes overall, but not all are visible) was to reduce the number of displayed resources (numbers) transported over connections. It depends now on how many resources (numbers) are on the board, so you may not even see this particular change on smaller “farms”. Also, I hid some unnecessary visual details on zoom out (they weren't readable anyway).[/p][p]Other things are under the hood, and they should not be visible directly in the game (only adding more fps).[/p][p]I have a few more potential changes that could improve performance even more if it will be needed, but for now, I would like to hear more feedback on how the game works for you. It is smooth in the end-game on my 10-year-old PC, so I am not sure it needs any more upgrades (remembering that all of them are risky for the game stability). [/p][p]I may add an option to choose the level of details based on a preference and computing power if needed (?). Let me know what you think after playing![/p]
About translations
[p]As you probably know, after Steam Next Fest, I introduced optional captions, but the game is, in general, designed to be played without text (translations). (Context: https://steamcommunity.com/app/3648370/discussions/0/673976371230464527/ ).[/p][p]I am very sorry if it caused confusion (about the available languages in the game). Steam suggests checking all language checkboxes if the game can be played without translatable text.[/p][p]To make things go faster, I launched a community-driven localization project on my Discord server if you would like to join :) For now, there are English, Polish, and Chinese translations. Russian and Ukrainian most likely coming next week.[/p][p][/p][p]And that’s all for today :)[/p][p]As always - if you have any feedback/suggestions/or just want to talk with me, feel free to use the comment section/Steam Discussions/Discord Server![/p][p]Have Fun![/p][p]ByerN[/p]
