FrostBound Confirmed for June Steam Next Fest

[p]Dear Players![/p][p][/p][p]We’re thrilled to announce that FrostBound will be participating in the upcoming June Steam Next Fest! Since the May Demo launch, our game’s median playtime has reached 1 hour and 11 minutes, with the average playtime hitting an impressive 3 hours and 40 minutes! We’re excited for every player who’s immersed themselves in the game, and we sincerely thank everyone for their feedback—it’s driving us to continually improve and push forward![/p][p][/p][p]If this is your first time trying FrostBound, don’t worry! It’s an easy-to-learn, hard-to-master roguelike deck-building card game. Let me explain its rules to you in 5 simple sentences.[/p]
  1. [p]In the game, you play as a lord defending against disasters amid an endless winter. Each run gives you 3 Integrity points (health). Failing a regular battle costs you 1 point (we’ve kindly given you three chances!), but losing a boss fight will immediately end your run.[/p]
  2. [p]Your battlefield is a 7-column grid, with 6 columns available for deployment. If any enemy crosses your leftmost defense line, the battle ends in failure (See? I told you it’s simple).[/p][p][/p]
  3. [p]You’ve got plenty of ways to fight! The game offers Attack cards that deal direct damage to cards on the field, Defense cards that can be deployed in your lanes or neutral lanes, and Skill cards with various unique mechanics to build your deck. On top of that, powerful Structure cards (think of them like Relics in other card games) provide unexpected support.[/p][p][/p]
  4. [p]Each disaster monster has health, defense, and even ranged attack and magic power. You’ll need to develop strategies based on their unique traits.[/p][p][/p]
  5. [p]Keep in mind that due to the freezing weather, regular defensive warriors will retreat after one turn. Only sturdy structures and steadfast elite units can withstand the harsh cold and hold the battlefield.[/p][p][/p]

FrostBound Demo - Small update

Dear Lords,

We've made the following bug fixes and optimizations:

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  1. Fixed the issue where "Magic Thoughts" was not immortal.
  2. Fixed the incorrect description of "Construction Hub" in English.
  3. Fixed the problem where "Fate+" had no associated cards.
  4. Fixed the bug where "Overload" could draw non-elite cards.
  5. Fixed the mismatch between the effect and description of "Plunder+".
  6. Fixed the issue where rewards were not correctly distributed after winning the "Lost Remains" battle.

[h3]Card Updates[/h3]
  1. Zone Lockdown+: Effect changed - When a target is killed, add a Pursuit Enchantment to the column of the target.
  2. Battlefield Scavenging+: Supply requirement reduced from 1 to 0.
  3. Exile Trade Office: Effect changed - At the end of your turn, if supply is not 0, gain 10 gold (from 5).

FrostBound Demo - Patch-Note #2

Dear Lords,

Over the past week of testing, we've received a wealth of feedback—your enthusiasm has been a tremendous encouragement to the dev team! We're working hard to make the game even better!
Here are the details of the updates and optimizations we've implemented this week:

[h2]System & Mechanic Adjustments[/h2]
  1. Added a "Restart Battle" feature.
  2. Adjusted demo completion requirements: Defeating the second boss for the first time now completes the demo.
  3. Repurposed the original final boss: It is now a hidden boss unlockable in New Game+ after your initial completion.
  4. Adjusted enemy encounters to provide a more diverse and engaging combat experience.
  5. Completely revamped the mechanics for the hero "Order".
  6. Added a new hero: "Wittrin".


[h2]Balance Tuning & Content Optimizations[/h2]
  1. Redesigned card descriptions, incorporating icons for some keywords to improve clarity.
  2. Reduced difficulty for certain boss fights.
  3. Adjusted the starting card pool for new players' first run.
  4. Relocated the UI prompt for enemy reinforcements.
  5. Reworked certain buff-related Attack cards, adding the "Relinquishment" effect.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  1. Fixed a bug that allowed players to receive duplicate boss reward cards under specific conditions.
  2. Fixed bugs causing incorrect formatting on some cards.
  3. Fixed a bug where card descriptions remained unchanged after upgrading.
  4. Fixed the bug where "Wasteland Plunder Squad" did not deduct Life when required.
  5. Fixed a bug where the "Relinquishment" effect was incorrectly modified by hero abilities/stats.
  6. Fixed a bug causing "Wrath" to trigger incorrectly/in unintended situations.

FrostBound Demo - Patch-Note

Dear Lords,

Over the past 10 days of the demo, we've received an overwhelming amount of support and feedback. We'd like to express our gratitude to every player who participated in the demo!
One of the most important feedbacks is that the attack card experience in the original version is not good. Cards other than elite cards often perform poorly. Based on these two points, we have made major updates by merging Morale and Armament. Now, the growth of attack cards can keep pace with the game's progression.
We've also implemented numerous content optimizations and updates. Here are the details:

[h2]System and Mechanism Adjustments[/h2]
  1. Merged Morale and Armament: Each point of Armament now increases both attack and defense card values by 1.
  2. Introduced Card Pack System: Card packs will be unlocked gradually as the game progresses.
  3. Implemented Card Locking Feature: Now players can lock specific cards to prevent them from appearing in the game.
  4. Adjust the appearance logic of all battles to make the experience of different battles smoother.
  5. Improved Boss Fights: Increased interaction space against Boss.
  6. Added "Aranya" Buff: The next melee attack will deal 1 damage to both sides.
  7. Added "Relinquishment" Buff: Attack card is not affected by Armament.


[h2]Balance Adjustments and Content Optimizations[/h2]
  1. Redesigned Herald's Mechanic.
  2. Buffed Aurethil, slightly nerfed Anduriel, slightly buffed Order.
  3. Adjusted Balance of some Axiom and unconventional cards.
  4. Buffed faction-related Runes.
  5. Redesigned the Overworld's Visuals.
  6. Increased the Number of Playable Cards in the demo.
  7. Added 2 New Epic Events.
  8. Optimized the VFX of Epic Card Icons, improving the visual distinction of facilities.
  9. Upgraded the Visual Quality of Enemy Cards.
  10. Refined Descriptions of most cards.
  11. Enhanced rich text on cards.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  1. Fixed the Bug where elite cards could repeatedly appear or be duplicated.
  2. Added Sound Settings: Resolved the bug where some buttons on the main page didn't function after adjusting settings.
