🌾 Demo Day Reactions & What’s Next
[p]
[/p][p]Last week we had the chance to showcase No One Leaves the Field at IGDA San Diego’s Demo Day. It was the first time players outside the studio got to step into the wheatfield, hear the whispers, and come face-to-face with the scarecrow.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ll admit, it was a little nerve-wracking putting the game in front of fresh eyes — but the results were everything we hoped for. Players leaned forward, crept carefully, and yes… more than a few jumped when the scarecrow finally caught them. That’s exactly the kind of tension and surprise we’ve been working to build into the game, and it was so rewarding to see it land.[/p][p]
[/p][p]The feedback we received during the showcase was invaluable. Watching how people approached the farmhouse, how they reacted to the pacing, and even how they handled the smaller details gave us plenty of notes to bring back into development. These early playtests are helping us polish the demo and make sure the scares hit just right.[/p][p][/p][p]Demo Day was also special because it featured a talk by Raph Koster — legendary designer of Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. Hearing him reflect on the evolution of PC games and online worlds, while connecting those lessons to today, was inspiring for both developers and players in the room. It set the perfect tone for a day dedicated to creativity and community.[/p][p][/p][p]As for No One Leaves the Field, you won’t have to wait long to try it yourself. The demo will be launching in a few weeks, starting first on itch.io before making its way here on Steam. We can’t wait to share it more widely and hear what you think.[/p][p][/p][p]Until then, your wishlists go a long way in helping us reach more players ahead of release.[/p][p]Wishlist No One Leaves the Field on Steam[/p]
