The best Halloween 2022 treat? I think it might be Xbox Game Pass

Halloween is right around the corner, and I don’t know about any of you, but it’s definitely one of my favourite holidays of the year. Mainly because, unlike Christmas (in which I rarely get to relax, let alone boot up a game), it’s the perfect excuse for me to kick back and chill out with my favourite genre of game, and that’s horror.

Admittedly, I’ve jumped on the Halloween bandwagon rather late this year. I’ve failed to decorate my flat with cardboard bats and fake cobwebs, and I’m still yet to go and acquire candy for any trick-or-treaters.

That said, I dove into Xbox Game Pass recently to line up some games for the Halloween weekend; it appears that while the children knocking on my front door may not get any treats, I certainly have already got one with the gems that are on Game Pass right now.

Hollow Knight Silksong is coming... to PS4 and PS5

That's right folks, the latest bit of Hollow Knight: Silksong news is here, confirming that it is definitely, absolutely, 100% coming to PS4 and PS5.

PlayStation itself confirmed the news earlier this week on its official Twitter account (September 16), writing "Sharpen your needles – confirming Hollow Knight: Silksong is coming to PS5 and PS4." Of course, this being Silksong news, that's about as far as the update stretches, but it is good to know that the game will be coming to a range of platforms at the very least.

Earlier this year at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, we got another snippet of Silksong gameplay, confirming that the game would also be coming to Xbox consoles, though didn't specify which. It was also announced that the game would be on Game Pass day one though, a big win for subscribers to the service. But there's been no mention of whether it will be available on any of the PlayStation Plus expanded tiers.

Hollow Knight is getting cross-platform Steam Cloud Saves to help Steam Deck

Hollow Knight developer Team Cherry has announced that an update due to go live on Monday, August 15th will bring a much needed change to the saving system.

Cross-platform Cloud Saves

Soon we'll be making some changes in order to support cross-platform cloud saves between Windows, MacOS, and Linux (including the Steam Deck)!

This is planned to occur on Monday, 15th of August at 05:00 (UTC).

UPDATE: These changes have been applied. Please take care to backup your save files from the locations below before attempting to sync with Steam Cloud. In order for your save files to sync properly you may need to open them up in-game once and then save and quit, so Steam triggers the upload.

These changes will replace the MacOS and Linux cloud save locations, and all platforms will use the existing Windows save location. This will have a few side effects:

 • MacOS and Linux users will need to play the game once for Steam to upload their existing local save files to cloud storage
 • Windows users should not need to do anything, except:
 • Cross-platform users who manually migrated their save files between platforms may have conflicting files. When steam prompts you to keep or overwrite your files it is important to choose the correct one carefully (which will depend on your own situation). If in doubt, back up your save files first!
Help: missing save files
In some edge cases it may appear that your save files are missing. First, confirm that they can't be found at the locations above. You can manually download save files from the Steam Cloud website and place them in their relevant locations.
