DEMO STILL UNDER REVIEW

[p]Hey Everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Just a quick casual update / warning, the demo store page has been under a back and forth with Valve over the last couple days, and it's looking like the demo might not release tomorrow. [/p][p][/p][p]If it turns out that it doesn't release tomorrow (still possible, fingers crossed), it won't be more than a couple of days until it does. I'll put out a post here on Steam and X when it drops, so if you've followed the store page (likely, since you're seeing this), you'll get a Steam notification when it releases.[/p][p][/p][p]🥂 Cheers to a second (and final) delay![/p][p][/p][p]If you've got any further questions or want to yell at me, give me a shout at [/p][p][email protected][/p][p][/p][p]— Bun Muen[/p]

Position Filled: Publisher 📋
I am excited to announce that I’ve partnered with UK-based publisher Kwalee on Shift At Midnight!
[p]I want to reassure you guys that this will not affect the vision or direction of Shift at Midnight. I'm still making the game I've set out to make. Kwalee will just be assisting me with things like marketing, project management, QA testing, etc. so I can focus my attention on development!

Shift At Midnight is an online co-op horror game. You and up to 2 friends work the graveyard shift at a rural 90s gas station, though some of your customers aren't human.
[/p][p]Figure out if your customers are doppelgangers. Examine their ID, cross-check their details in the computer, and observe their behavior. One slip-up might expose a creature… or cost you your life.

If a creature manages to leave the store, all hell breaks loose. Barricade the doors, place traps, and find a place to hide. Survival is no longer guaranteed.

MULTIPLAYER DEMO SEP 29TH

[p]Hey Everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]You might recall that in July, I put out a post stating that the multiplayer demo was likely to release on Steam around late August / early September. Well now it's early September and unfortunately, because of legal complications, I've got to push the date back.[/p][p][/p][p]The demo will release September 29th.[/p][p][/p][p]In truth, the demo is fully ready.[/p][p]It's got multiplayer, proximity chat, new events and new customers. It's even been playtested and polished. But because the game blew up so fast at such an unexpected rate, there were unexpected legal processes that popped up and need to be completed before the demo can release.[/p][p][/p][p]This is extremely frustrating for me, so I can only imagine how frustrating it is for you, especially considering I stated a timeframe that I didn't end up delivering on. Though I hope you can understand that I want to release this the right way - and don't worry, I won't stay idle during the three week wait. I'll spend this time on further polishing and further playtests to make sure that when you do get your hands on it, it'll be great.[/p][p][/p][p]FAQ:[/p][p]What will this Steam demo contain?[/p][p]The main addition will be online co-op for up to 3 players. Night 1 will be identical to the singleplayer demo. Night 2 is overhauled, and there will be an additional Night 3 with new content. However, like the singleplayer demo, this demo won't have randomly generated nights. But the full release will.[/p][p][/p][p]What will change between this demo and the full release?[/p][p]The full release will be composed of randomly generated "runs" to play through with your friends. This will include a shitton of customers, random silly/scary/funny events, items, monsters, traps and more.[/p][p][/p][p]When will the game fully release?[/p][p]Q2 2026[/p][p][/p][p]What languages will the game be in?[/p][p]Right now, I'm looking toward English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified). There may be more in future, but for the time being, this is what I'm going for.[/p][p][/p][p]If you've got any further questions or want to yell at me, give me a shout at [email protected][/p][p][/p][p]— Bun Muen [/p]

MULTIPLAYER DEMO INFO

[p]Hey Everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Let me start with the important bit: The multiplayer demo will be ready around late August / early September [/p][p][/p][p]Let me explain: during and after the Steam Summer Sale, Valve paused wishlist counts. I happened to publish my steam page just as the sale began, so I wasn’t able to track the progress in real-time. Just today, the numbers have finally updated, and I’ve seen that we've blown passed the 20,000 wishlist milestone. I can't thank you enough - that is genuinely wild.[/p][p][/p][p]Now to be completely honest, I set that milestone thinking of it as an unrealistic goal I would never hit. Something to bide time in order to give me time to work on the multiplayer. I genuinely never expected to ever hit 20k, and I definitely didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. Unfortunately as a result, the multiplayer demo isn’t ready just yet. I want to make sure this demo is the best it can be, so I’m taking the time to playtest, tweak, and refine everything. No rushing - just making sure it’s genuinely fun when it drops.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm hard at work on it and you can expect it to be released within the next 2 months. I really appreciate everyone’s patience, and I’m endlessly grateful for the support and kind messages I've received so far.[/p][p][/p][p]FAQ:[/p][p]Is that a confident demo release window?[/p][p]Not certain. Could come earlier, could come later.[/p][p]When will the game fully release?[/p][p]Q1/Q2 2026[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you again for helping push the game this far - expect more updates closer to the release of the [/p][p]demo. [/p][p][/p][p]— Bun Muen[/p]
