[h3]AD 1347, deep within the Carpathian Mountains, an iron-fueled wind of change is rising above Vale Sangora. As Skender Dragosti, former lord of the valley, goes missing during a manhunt, a new leader emerges from the darkness and with him, a whole clique of terrifying lieutenants. [/h3][h3]In the past lurking in the shadows, now sitting at the top of human' society, the vrakhiri are the undisputed masters of the valley. Let's dive into the foes that you, as Coen, will have to deal with in The Blood of Dawnwalker.[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p]Brencis is their leader. Hungry for power, born to rule, his own story is made of unaccomplished desires that he now strives to fulfill.[/p][p][/p][p]Concept art by Bartłomiej Gaweł[/p][p]Born in the Roman Empire under the name Caeso Burrienus Laurentius, AD 131, to a noble family that owned massive latifundia, Brencis was destined for greatness.[/p][p]He joined the ranks of Senators and quickly rose to the top of Roman officialdom, with ambitions to become the next consul. He was on the right track to make it happen... if only he had not been turned into a vampire.[/p][p]In The Blood of Dawnwalker, he is voiced by Andrew James Spooner and trust that there will be much to be heard from the new ruler of Vale Sangora.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Xanthe is the oldest vampire of the group, older than what seems possible. Her story goes back to Ancient Greece, where she used to be a priestess, her own name forgotten through passing centuries.[/p][p][/p][p]Concept art by Kacper Madejak[/p][p]Her body bears witness to the ravages of time, as does her mind. Hearing voices from beyond the pale, muttering under her breath, at first glance, she might seem insane.[/p][p]The truth couldn’t be more different. She understands the true nature of the world better than anyone. And deep down, she’s terrified.[/p][p]Xanthe is an entity of few words, but each of them conveys the wisdom of a very ancient being. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, she'll be voiced by Mandi Symonds.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Ambrus is the youngest vampire of the pack; and therefore, he has something to prove to his peers. He once sought these vampiric powers to reach new heights. There is nothing he’ll shy away from, no red line he won’t cross.[/p][p][/p][p]Concept art by Kacper Madejak[/p][p]His gleaming armor and perfectly coiffed hair make Ambrus look like a nobleman, but his origins couldn’t be humbler. His life as a human was hard, filled with pain and humiliation. Now, he’s more than ready to settle the score with the world and all who spurned him.[/p][p]Charming, deceiving, dangerous. Ambrus will be voiced by Lorne Macnaughton in The Blood of Dawnwalker. Be aware that every word may only be spoken to serve his own purpose.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Bakir is one of Brencis' most powerful lieutenants. Warmonger, cruel, bloodthirsty, he is one of these men who just want to see the world burn.[/p][p][/p][p]Concept art by Jan Marek[/p][p]As a human, he spent decades galloping across the dry steppes of Central Asia, burning, trampling and pillaging as he went. He thirsted for blood even before he was turned.[/p][p]For centuries, he hid in the shadows – and resented it. Bakir likes being the center of attention. In a world where we have hundreds of thousands of games at our fingertips, the genre you love can easily get stale. Somehow, even with the dire need for something fresh in games, if the latest game isn’t a sequel, prequel, remaster or remake, the hype isn’t anywhere near what it could be for fear of the unknown. For me, RPGs and action-RPGs are my genre of choice, and new versions just haven’t spoken to me…until now.

I was able to watch an hour-long preview of The Blood of Dawnwalker from the new studio, Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco. I can confidently tell you that they are bringing a fresh take on the action-RPG, and I am both excited and nervous to jump in hands-on.

During our session, we were able to see what I believe is the game’s opening cutscene, and then we jumped into a quest line a bit further in the game, when you would be familiar with the unique gameplay cycle and your abilities.
