CELEBRATE BOMBS DROP DAY WITH A FALLOUT 76 FREE PLAY WEEK & MORE!

In Fallout, October 23 marks the day the bombs fell, the event that started it all.

And it wouldn’t be Fallout if we didn’t throw a party to celebrate the day the world ended! So in honor of this momentous occasion, we’ve got a week of excitement for you to take part in, including a Free Play Week, tons of sales, in-game events, and even a limited preview of Fallout 1st! Get all the details below.
PLAY FOR FREE!
If you haven’t had the chance to jump into Fallout 76 yet, now is the best time! From now through October 26, you’ll be able to experience the entire game for free. This includes the base game experience, plus Wastelanders and Nuclear Winter.

As you play through Fallout 76, you’ll also be able to take advantage of all of the new features introduced in our One Wasteland Update, including enemy level rebalancing, which will let you play with anyone, anywhere in the wasteland. There’s also a brand-new Daily Ops system, which rewards you just for playing and completing challenges. Learn more about everything the One Wasteland Update has to offer here.

And, if you decide to get Fallout 76 when the Free Play Week is over, not only will all your progress carry over, but the game and all available content bundles will be on sale!
IN-GAME EVENTS
It wouldn’t be a true celebration without in-game events, and there will be three in-game events running from October 22 - 26. Get Double S.C.O.R.E. and Double XP, and get 25% off Legendary weapons and armor from Purveyor Murmrgh at the Rusty Pick.
LIMITED FALLOUT 1ST PREVIEW
Finally, get a sample of a Fallout 1st membership with the free Fallout 1st Preview. In order to claim it, all you have to do is log in between October 20 and October 26, find the free Fallout 1st Limited Preview “item” in the Atomic Shop, and you’ll have access to some of the features offered with the membership.

This trial will allow you to use the Scrapbox (which will need to be claimed separately through the Fallout 1st section of the Atomic Shop in order to build it in your C.A.M.P.) and Survival Tent. Just like for full Fallout 1st members, the Scrapbox will give you unlimited storage for your crafting components, and the Survival Tent operates as a placeable fast travel point with a Stash, Sleeping Bag, Scrapbox, Instrument and Cooking Station. (The Survival Tent will be located in your Favorites wheel after you activate your preview.)

You will have access to both of these features until the preview ends on October 26. Once the preview ends, anything in your Scrapbox will persist (you won’t lose any of those precious crafting materials!), but you won’t be able to add anything new.

If you pick up the Fallout 1st Limited Preview from the Atomic Shop, you’ll also get a couple of other goodies that Fallout 1st members have access to. This month’s free in-game items are the Mechanic’s Wallpaper and Mechanic’s Floor and Foundation. Like any scrap you place in the Scrapbox, these items will remain yours after the preview ends.

Fallout 4: New Vegas fan project gets a glorious gameplay trailer

Just in time for Fallout: New Vegas' tenth anniversary, a new trailer has dropped for its fan-made remake, Fallout 4: New Vegas. The ambitious mod aims to "rebuild the entire New Vegas experience" within Fallout 4's Creation Engine.

"You'll once again be able to explore the Mojave, visit the town of Goodsprings, take part in the second Battle of Hoover Dam, and experience content which was cut from the original," says the mod's official site. That's no small task, I'm sure you'll agree.

This latest trailer gives us our most extensive look yet at the mod's combat, characters, and world. Straight off the bat, the trailer's presentation has an air of authenticity to it, which thankfully carries into the gameplay itself. The team's loving recreation of New Vegas is both instantly familiar and slightly surreal. That said, from the updated arsenal to its glorious take on the Mojave, everything looks just right. And while we're yet to see the RPG game's most iconic locale - the New Vegas Strip - the results shown here are nothing short of spectacular.

This Fallout 4 mod makes us suspect it's a portal to the Meat Dimension

Ridiculous Fallout 4 mods are the best kind, I'm sure you'll agree. The simple act of playing the vanilla game can result in no shortage of hilarity, so adding mods to the mix is enough to turn Bethesda's grim, post-apocalyptic Boston into a carnival of absolute nonsense.

The latest mod to catch our eye creates an otherworldly portal through which all manner of loot pours, from guns to random cuts of mystery meat. The thing is that creator Wiz1's mod was never intended to do this. That said, the end results of the mod seemingly going haywire are rather marvellous, so let's just call it a happy accident.

Quite what has gone wrong is unclear, but we do know that the mod allows you to teleport any person or creature into a relay grenade, then release them by chucking said grenade. If the game reckons that the selected person or creature has been deleted, every single item they were carrying will fly out from wherever the grenade happens to blow.

This Fallout 4 mod lets you spring clean baddies to death

Fallout 4's post-apocalyptic Boston could sure do with a thorough tidying up. Dusty, dirty, and no doubt horrid to smell, it's a pigsty of the highest order. But worry not! You can make a start on cleaning the Commonwealth by using DMF GAMING and Rbomb04's delightfully deadly air duster mod.

Beyond just being ridiculous in all the right ways, it might also prove useful as a weapon. You see, through some futuristic feat of engineering, it's powerful enough to send your foes flying. There are currently three variants of the air duster for you to try out. The first has a clean look, the second is a bit scuffed, and the third is a legendary air duster.

You'll be able to craft the first two variants right away by heading to a chemistry workbench and searching for the air duster tab. That said, you've got an adventure ahead of you if you want to procure the legendary variant. It can be found in the cellar of Gorski Cabin, just south of Concord. Here's the exact location, as well as some extra info on the cabin itself.
