Xbox is giving away a custom Fallout-themed Series X that will surely survive the apocalypse

If you're a Fallout fan and you would like a custom Xbox Series X, then you might want to check out the giveaway Xbox is currently holding.

Prime Video's Fallout TV show is basically right around the corner, and as part of building hyper for the upcoming series, Xbox has teamed up with the streaming service to make "the world's first vault for an Xbox." Now, this is obviously quite a bold claim and to be perfectly honest isn't necessarily verifiable, however, the resulting custom Fallout-themed Xbox is quite funny. As you can see in the tweet below, the custom Xbox is designed to look like tons of Vault Boys posed all over the console, with a similar design on the console's controller.

Most notably though is the fact that the console itself comes in a literal vault, complete with a Fallout logo, keypad, and little wheel you presumably turn to open it after putting in the correct code. The wheel has the number 33 on it too, the very same vault that will be making its debut in the live action show when it airs next month. It's one of the funnier custom Xboxs that Microsoft has put up for grabs, though unfortunately those of us over in the UK and EU won't have any chance of getting it, as the giveaway is only open to US residents ages 18 and up.

One of the biggest Fallout modding projects in years is about to release, and if it goes wrong it could 'kill the Fallout modding scene'

Five years in, and Fallout: London is about ready to drop a bombshell. One of the most ambitious projects in the Fallout modding scene, FOLON (as it's known) is a "DLC-sized" attempt to transplant Fallout's familiar post-apocalypse from American shores to the bustling boroughs of London, complete with ghoul-ified bobbies and King's guards...

Don't worry, Todd Howard's made sure the Fallout TV show hasn't ruined any of Fallout 5's surprises

You know the Fallout TV series that’s set to drop on Amazon Prime Video next month? Well, apparently Todd Howard’s made sure it won’t step on Fallout 5’s toes by stepping in to say no whenever an idea that’s in the plans for the game came up during the show’s filming.

Yep, following last week’s fresh trailer and the show’s head honchos casually saying that it’s basically a bit like Fallout 5 because it’s… erm… a Fallout-related thing that’s happening after the release of Fallout 4, we’ve gotten a bit of clarification on that. As it turns out, the series definitely isn’t going to be like Fallout 5, because Bethesda’s premier former chess club member stepped up to stop the two from potentially ending up mimicking each other.

Speaking to Den of Geek, Howard’s said regarding the show: “Well, there were some things where I said, ‘Don’t do this because we are going to do that in Fallout 5.'” He also made sure to clarify that it’s not designed to be a straight-up re-telling of any of the stories we’ve seen play out in the games, though obviously didn’t go into any detail as to the stuff he’s stopped from slipping into the show.

Fallout 5 might be closer, and more live action, than you thought

You probably thought the next Fallout would be another video game, but the TV show's producer thinks the upcoming series is "almost" Fallout 5.

Right now, considering that Starfield released last year, the thing that most Bethesda fans will be waiting on is The Elder Scrolls 6, which also finally started development in 2023. Of course, many are still looking ahead to Fallout 5, which is coming after The Elder Scrolls 6, but in the eyes of the upcoming Fallout show's producer Jonathon Nolan (yes, the younger brother of that guy that directed Oppenheimer), the series kind of is Fallout 5. Speaking to Total Film (via GamesRadar), Nolan spoke of what it's been like adapting Fallout for a TV show.

"From the first conversation with Todd [Howard, game director of Fallout 3 & 4, and an executive producer on the show] we were most excited about an original story," Nolan said. "Fallout, in my career, is closest to the work we did in adapting Batman, where there’s so much storytelling in the Batman universe that there is no canonical version of it, so you’re free to invent your own."
