This Fallout 4 mod gives you a Destiny 2-style ghost

Thanks to the ever-thriving Fallout 4 modding scene, you can pretty much take on the RPG game's post-apocalyptic Commonwealth in whatever way you like. That includes strapping your survivor into some Destiny 2-style armour and tackling rads, raiders, and really bad food like a true Guardian - and now, you can enhance that experience even more with a new Fallout 4 mod that gives you one of the FPS game's ghosts.

Modder ToaZen has posted a new creation to Fallout 4's slice of Nexus Mods which brings Destiny ghosts to Bethesda's open-world game. It's not clear from the description whether it functions in any way, other than being a great prop to sit at your Fallout 4 Guardian's shoulder, but it certainly looks the part. This particular shell is modelled on Destiny's Timeswept ghost variant - a legendary version, which was introduced with the shooter's ninth season and is part of the Sundial gear set.

The ghost is pretty distinctive, with a cream-hued shell and pointy gold prongs - and the Fallout 4 version is totally faithful to Bungie's design. It takes up slot 55 (the ones for belts, hip-weapons, and satchels) and can be crafted using the chemistry workbench.

Rise of the Commonwealth returns for Fallout 4: Sim Settlements 2

Fallout 4's Sim Settlements mod has brought the joy of city-building games to Bethesda's RPG for years, and the recent Sim Settlements 2 has made the experience even bigger and better. Yet it launched without some of the expansions that came to the original mod over time - but now they're coming back with the new launch of Rise of the Commonwealth.

The original Rise of the Commonwealth added automated building for Sim Settlements, allowing you to put NPCs in charge of constructing the settlements of your choice. That feature is in Sim Settlements 2 by default, but the new version of the mod was missing RoC's original levelled city plans, which have now been restored.

Rise of the Commonwealth for Sim Settlements 2 is available on Nexus Mods, and it adds "36 upgradeable city plans" which cover "every vanilla and DLC settlement". The plans will, of course, support the new features of Sim Settlements 2, and the new release includes plans for Boston Airport and Spectacle Island, as well.

The Fallout 5 locations we'd love to see

The Fallout series has taken us to several classic American locations over the years. But where will Fallout 5 be set? Within the game's future setting, there are hundreds of vaults scattered across the USA, in places like West Virginia, Texas, and Colorado, meaning a multitude of possibilities for a future Fallout 5 setting.

Whatever Fallout 5 is, it will most likely be set in America. Atompunk Americana is kind of the series' whole aesthetic, so regardless of how much we want to see a China or European-based Fallout game, it ain't happening.

Nevermind the fact that we're probably several years away from Fallout 5 even being announced, with Bethesda busy working on The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield first. We've got ideas and there's no point bottling them up until Todd Howard graces us with a 30-second CGI teaser at E3 2025. That's why we've put our heads together to come up with a list of locations that we would like to see Fallout's nuclear fire touch next. Fallout 4 offers what Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't: consequences

I've been thinking about Fallout 4 a lot lately. I didn't love it at launch, not like I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but in the five years since it released I've come to appreciate just how good it is at making you feel like your choices will have tangible, meaningful consequences.

Fallout 76 jolted my appreciation for Bethesda Softworks' previous entry, but it took Cyberpunk 2077 to finally prod me into revisiting the irradiated wastes of the Commonwealth. I've spent just over 40 hours in Night City, plugging away at the main quest and ticking off side jobs and gigs. There's plenty to love, plenty of stuff that annoys me, and some spectacular bugs; on paper it should be striking all the same chords as Fallout 4, but it's leaving me frustrated and unsatisfied every time 'quest complete' pops up on screen.

From relatively small quests all the way to major story beats, Fallout 4 always reminds you that what you choose to do matters. One of the first side quests you pick up is Painting the Town, an otherwise bland and forgettable fetch quest where you're tasked with tracking down some paint to spruce up the walls of Diamond City. There are a few ways to get the desired green paint, or you can retrieve another colour for a lesser reward, and there are plenty of dialogue options to choose from depending on what you deliver.
