Greetings Survivors!
The long awaited update 0.998 is now released. This is Nomad's biggest update, ever. There's a lot of content and new features added. Let's go through them:
Vehicles

The much requested feature, vehicles are now added. There are two types of vehicles that spawn in the world, a standard car and a SUV. Only a limited number of vehicles can spawn at any given time, so make sure you're the first to secure them.
Drive them all across the map, you are free to go where ever you want. Vehicles need to be refuelled using Fuel before driving them.
We've added Garage Doors to bases that will help store your vehicles. Protect your vehicle, you found it. Garage Doors can be raided just like any normal base structure. So don't let too many people know about your vehicle being stored at your base, otherwise you'll have quite the number of uninvited guests turning up.

Quests

To enrich the PvE scene, we've added in quests. Quests are picked up at the Safe Zone from the NPC, Hamood.
These quests will take you all over the world finding items, crafting items and killing zombies. Find out about what's happening on the island and uncover history and lore.
Completing quests will give high amount of XP, Cash and mid to end game tier items.
Meet The Fumer
A new zombie has been added, The Fumer. This deadly zombie will explode when close, just like her brother, The Boomer but will leave an area of poison gas behind.
You can negate the effects of this toxic gas by wearing a Gas Mask.
Zombies in this update have also been buffed, they will deal more damage, run faster and more of them will spawn. It's safe to avoid Pinewood City and the Airfield until you are heavily geared or with a group of fellow survivors.
New Safe Zone

The Safe Zone has been redesigned and will act as a central hub for all things to come. Traders, Gold Seller and Buyer and the new Quest NPC are stationed here.
Players will spawn in this area and once in the Safe Zone, you cannot be killed.
Major Locations Redesigned

Pinewood City, the old military area up north and the Airfield have all been redesigned. They have new, more detailed models and better layouts.
New Point of Interest, The Lighthouse

A new Point of Interest has been added, The Lighthouse. These lighthouses are jotted in the corners of the world and are fully lootable. They will spawn a range of different gear ranging from medical supplies, military supplies to general supplies.
Lighthouses show up as pink squares on the map.
New Keybinding Window

You can now set your key bindings in-game via the pause menu!
The Riot Shield

The Riot Shield has been added. Negate and block incoming fire by wearing this on your back. A great piece of gear to help you win PvP battles.
Tons of New Items

Tons of new items have been added ranging from Urban Body Armour, a new survival backpack for Premium members to Hockey Masks and more! These items are in the general loot tables and can be picked up anywhere in the world.
4 new Premium skins from the community got added! Remember you can submit your own skins via the Community Hub!
17 new Premium death effects got added. They will play randomly when a Premium player dies.
Huge List of Balances and Performance Increases

Nomad was pretty unbalanced at the best of times. This update set out to rectify most of the balancing problems.
Zombies are faster, stronger and no longer useless. They pose a threat and should be treated with care.
Talent changes happened. There are now new Level 2 talents to choose from. First option; Decreased to +5% armor, down from 10% and the other will stop 50% of Wet Rating applying to armor.
Most notable balance changes are headshots now do 50% extra damage, down from 100% extra damage and crafting and building XP has been reduced. It's better to earn XP via the new quest system.
Performance upgrades and increases throughout this update will result in better Frames Per Second for a smoother, more enjoyable experience. On average, you should see an increase of around 50% increase FPS.

[h2]Anti-Cheat[/h2]
- A lot of fixes, improvements and changes to the Anti Cheat system
- Workbenches are now more secure when accessing or changing authorizations
- Storage chests and containers are now more secure when accessing or interacting with them
[h2]Performance[/h2]
- Performance increases with player movement packets to the server
- Decreased memory footprint of each player connected
- Increased performance with C4 explosions
- Zombie targeting packets has been significantly reduced
- Zombie targeting performance has been significantly increased
[h2]User Interface[/h2]
- Admin Menu is now rebindable in the Input Tab on the launcher
- Night Vision Toggle is now rebindable in the Input Tab on the launcher
- You can now hide the UI by pressing F2 (default).
- Main Menu now displays summary of patch notes and other news articles listed in boxes
- New Keybinding window on the pause menu. You can now change your keybinds in-game.
- There is now a popup advertisement for Premium on the main menu screen for free to play users. Help support the game, get Premium!

- Zombie Stalkers now have increased run speed
- Zombie Stalkers health increased to 80 hp, up from 60 hp
- Zombie Boomer explosion damage increased to 70 hp, up from 45 hp and blast radius increased to 7m, up from 5m
- Zombie Boomer explosion damage is now 2x more effective against other zombies
- Zombie Boomer health increased to 90 hp, up from 60 hp
- Zombies health increased to 110 hp, up from 80 hp
- All clothing items armor values have been rebalanced. Each slot can go to a maximum of 10% based on the quality of the item. 50% in total
- Workbenches now protect an area in an capsule, not a cube
- Increased currency you get from first time killing and repeat killings to 100-15, up from 75-10
- Level 4 Armor Talent decreased to +5% armor, down from 10%
- Level 4 Talent changed. This talent will stop 50% of Wet Rating applying to armor
- The Wet effect rating increased to -40% armor, up from -30%
- Level 2 Talents changed. Increase food value or increase drink value.
- All players now spawn at the Safe Zone as this will act as a hub in future
- Reduced the number of total mining nodes in the world
- Reduced the number of total barrels in the world
- Reduced the number of total pallets in the world
