Boston, here we come! Meet us at PAX East (March 26–29)

[p]Hey there!
[/p][p]We’ve got some great news today, our team is heading to PAX East in Boston from March 26 to 29, and we’ll have our booth with a playable playtest version of Dominus Automa![/p][p]If you’re planning to be there, swing by our stand - you can play the game and talk with us. Our Game Director and Community Manager will both be around, so if you’ve ever wanted to talk design, balance, where things are going, or just say hi! 👋 It’ll be a perfect moment[/p][p]Also, if there’s someone we absolutely should talk to while we’re there (player, content creator, streamer, journalist, or business contact), make sure to DM us! We'll make sure to make it happen![/p][p]So… are we seeing you at PAX?[/p]

Devlog Memories #7 - Controlling Your Hero with Written Messages

[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p]New week - and another devlog! Today we’re testing something that changes how you interact with your character.[/p][p][/p][h3]Chatting with Your Hero[/h3][p]We built the first prototype of text-based character control. You can now simply write a message to your hero and they will execute it immediately. Instead of going through menus or clicking different options, you just type what you want them to do. Whether it’s moving somewhere, changing focus, or taking a specific action, you write it - and it happens.[/p][p][/p][h3]How It Feels[/h3][p]Writing a message makes it feel less like managing a system and more like actually communicating with your character. In a game built around automation and priorities, this adds a more personal layer of interaction. For us, it noticeably increases immersion, but we’re curious what you think![/p][p][/p][p]If you haven’t added the game to your wishlist yet, you can do it here:[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]And if you’d like to support us and join a great community, you can do that here:[/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/dominus_automa[/p][p][/p][p]That’s it for today![/p][p]Thanks and see you in the next devlog![/p][p]~Tom[/p]

Devlog Memories #6 - Attacks, First Spells & Skill System

[p]Hey everyone, [/p][p]New week - new devlog! Today we’re diving into the core of our gameplay: the rhythm of battle.[/p][p][/p][p]The Feeling of Combat [/p][p]The attack animation is finally in the game – and you can instantly feel the difference. The character finally looks alive, and combat actually feels like a fight. Movement, timing, and enemy reactions are all starting to click together into one cohesive experience.[/p][p][/p][p]First Spells: Bringing the Heat [/p][p]We also threw in our first spell - the good old Fireball ☄️. A burning projectile flying straight at the enemy? Yes please. It’s a simple addition, but it immediately makes everything look way more exciting and dynamic.[/p][p][/p][p]Finish Them! [/p][p]Enemies don’t just stand there anymore either - they now have death animations, which means fights finally have a proper finish.[/p]
[p]Attack, impact, reaction, down. Seeing a full encounter play out from start to end just feels right.[/p]
[p]The Skill System v1 [/p][p]On top of that, we’ve set up the first version of the skill system. Abilities trigger automatically, and you can already see how the rhythm of combat starts forming as skills interact with each other.[/p][p][/p][p]If you haven’t added the game to your wishlist yet, you can do so here:[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]And if you’d like to support us and join a great community, you can do that here:[/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/dominus_automa[/p][p][/p][p]That’s it for today! [/p][p]Thanks for reading, all the support, and the feedback - see you in the next devlog![/p][p]~Tom[/p][p][/p]

Devlog memories #5 - New NPCs, enemies & animations

[p]Hey there![/p][p]As every week, we’re back with another batch of updates from the game’s development![/p][p][/p][p]New NPCs and enemies have been added to the game, along with their first movement animations. In the attached GIF, you can see five characters moving at the same time - for the first time together in a single scene. [/p][p]This moment is important for us because it lets us see how different types of characters “read” next to each other: their silhouettes, scale, and movement pace.
[/p][p]Adding them directly into the game opens the door to the next steps: scenes with a larger number of characters or enemies, more varied situations, and moments where the world starts to feel truly inhabited.
[/p][p]If you haven’t added the game to your wishlist yet, you can do it here:[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]And if you’d like to support us and join a community, you can do that here:[/p][p]https://www.patreon.com/c/dominus_automa[/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for reading, support and feedback! [/p][p]See you in the next devlog! [/p][p]~Tom[/p]
