Fishing Derby + Fishy Friday FAQs

[h3]What are Fishing Derbies?[/h3][p]Fishing Derbies are competitive events where players fish at the same time, and anglers with the highest fish counts win. Whether you fish casually or go full sweat mode, all play styles are welcome.[/p][p]There are two types of Fishing Derbies in the Hotel:[/p]
  • [p]Automated Fishing Derbies (automatic, Stamp rewards)[/p]
  • [p]EC-Hosted Fishing Derbies (player-hosted, prizes include a Jade Gift Box, an EC Token and a Champion Trophy for the very best anglers.)[/p]
[hr][/hr][h3]How do I join a Fishing Derby?[/h3][h3][/h3][p]When a derby is active:[/p]
  1. [p]Watch for the Fishing Derby notification.[/p]
  2. [p]During registration, click “Open Shop” on the Bob NPC in any fishing room.[/p]
  3. [p]You’ll be registered automatically.[/p]
  4. [p]Once the derby begins, fish in the allowed locations for that event.[/p]
[p]⚠️ Important:[/p][p]You MUST join during the registration period to participate.[/p][p]If you are not registered before the derby begins, your fishing will NOT count. You cannot join once the active derby has started.[/p][hr][/hr][h3]Automated Fishing Derbies[/h3][p]Automated Fishing Derbies are automatic events available to all Habbos.[/p]
  • [p]Frequency: Every 4.5 hours[/p]
  • [p]Duration:[/p]
    • [p]10-minute registration[/p]
    • [p]15-minute active derby[/p]
  • [p]Rewards: Stamps based on final placement and total number of derby participants[/p]
[p]Once the derby starts, fish as much as possible before time runs out. You’ll receive updates during the event and a final placement notification when it ends.[/p][hr][/hr][h3]EC-Hosted Fishing Derbies (Fishy Friday)[/h3][p]EC-Hosted Fishing Derbies are manually run by BobEC and other Event Creators, including the weekly Fishy Friday. Check the Bulletin for the next scheduled event derby.[/p]
  • [p]Duration: Typically 30 minutes to 1 hour[/p]
  • [p]Rewards:[/p]
    • [p]Top 3: Champion Trophy + Jade Giftbox[/p]
    • [p]Top 4–10: Jade Giftbox[/p]
[p]Check out the hosts instructions to see where you can fish for this specific derby. Once the derby starts, fish as much as possible before time runs out. You’ll receive updates during the event and a final placement notification when it ends. For anglers who place in a prize winning spot, prizes are delivered directly to your Habbo hand ASAP. Please be patient.[/p][hr][/hr][h3]Where am I allowed to fish?[/h3][p]Fishing Derbies may take place in Public Rooms, Private Rooms, or both, depending on the event.[/p]
  • [p]Automated Fishing Derbies: Fishing locations are set automatically. Always follow the in-game derby notification to know where to fish.[/p]
  • [p]EC-Hosted Fishing Derbies (Prize Events): Allowed fishing locations will be clearly announced by the host before the derby begins.[/p]
[p]If you’re ever unsure where fishing is allowed, check the derby notification or ask the EC. Fish caught outside the approved locations will not count.[/p][hr][/hr][h3]Derby Rules (EC-Hosted / Prize Derbies Only)[/h3][p]To keep prize derbies fair and fun:[/p]
  • [p]One account per person (no alts)[/p]
  • [p]Fish only in approved locations[/p]
  • [p]Fishing Level 5+ Required for Private Room Derbies[/p]
  • [p]No exploits or manipulation[/p]
  • [p]Final results are verified before prizes are awarded[/p]

What began as a small passion project has grown into something that is now part of the Hotel, and being able to offer both automated derbies and EC-hosted events means more to me than I can put into words.
