Dead by Daylight’s Haunted by Daylight: A Halloween Event Guide

Halloween has come to Dead by Daylight, and so begins the frightening and festive Haunted by Daylight Event. Experience tense gameplay challenges, unsettling atmosphere, chilling cosmetics to unlock, a brand-new Event Tome, and much more.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
AN EERIE ATMOSPHERE
From October 13th, 11:00 AM ET – November 3rd, 11:00 AM ET, the Entity’s Realm will be transformed into a nightmarish Halloween playground.

In select Realms, the sky has undergone an unsettling transformation, tearing apart to reveal a mysterious rift. In addition Generators, Hooks, the Exit Gates, and the Basement have been updated with an eerie aesthetic, setting an appropriately ominous mood.

The Bloodweb will also see the return of the Will O' Wisp Flashlight, the All Hallows' Eve Lunchbox Med-Kit, the Blight Serum, and a new Haunted by Daylight Bloodpoint Offering.
PUMPKIN SEASON
This year, Pumpkins are making a triumphant return -- at least, until they are mercilessly stomped into orange paste. Once again, destroying a Pumpkin will lead to one of three outcomes: the Haste Status Effect (move faster), the Hindered Status Effect (move slower), or nothing at all. Destroying Pumpkins may also grant you Void Energy, a new gameplay mechanic introduced in Haunted by Daylight.

Speaking of which...
SEEK VOID ENERGY
For the duration of the Event, players must complete specific objectives to collect Void Energy. Once sufficient Void Energy has been collected, seek out an Unstable Rift to deposit your haul and earn up to 12 Halloween Cosmetics for Killer and Survivor.

What Are Void Energy and Unstable Rifts?
A strange and inexplicable substance from a Realm beyond, Void Energy must be collected and deposited in an Unstable Rift. Players can carry up to 15 Void Energy at a time. Depositing a total of 30 in a single match will net you one of 12 rewards.

How do I collect Void Energy?
Survivors collect Void Energy by repairing Halloween Generators, while Killers collect it by hooking Survivors on Halloween Hooks. It’s possible for both sides to steal Void Energy from one another, either by downing a Survivor or stunning the Killer.

Survivor
 • Repairing Halloween Generators
 • Stunning a Killer carrying Void Energy
 • Destroying a Pumpkin
Killer
 • Hooking Survivors on Halloween Hooks
 • Downing a Survivor carrying Void Energy
 • Destroying a Pumpkin

Where do I find Unstable Rifts?
The moment a trial begins, up to 3 Unstable Rifts will spawn across the Map. Seek them out quickly, as they will eventually disappear if left alone – but don’t worry, they will respawn shortly.

Once you find an Unstable Rift, you can deposit your Void Energy, earning bonus Bloodpoints and gaining a temporary Haste speed boost in the process. After doing so, the Rift will disappear, respawning at a new location shortly thereafter.
HALLOWEEN REWARDS
It wouldn’t be Halloween without a few goodies, and Haunted by Daylight has plenty of proverbial candy for your eager hands. By depositing a total of 30 Void Energy in a trial and completing the match, players will receive one of 12 Halloween Cosmetic rewards (6 for Killer, 6 for Survivor).

Unlock unique glow-in-the-dark Bone Shirts for Survivors, skeletal designs inspired by each character's personalities, interests, and backstories.
 • David King
 • Claudette Morel
 • Felix Richter
 • Feng Min
 • Jane Romero
 • Yun-Jin Lee

Unleash sugary, destruction with the Sweet Death Killer weapons, eye-catching and intricate designs inspired by a different type of candy.
 • The Hillbilly
 • The Twins
 • The Plague
 • The Trapper
 • The Doctor
 • The Nurse
EVENT TOME
Additional rewards can be earned in the Haunted by Daylight – Event Tome, with two pages worth of Challenges to complete.

That includes a new batch of Community Challenges, which can only be completed by the combined efforts of the entire community. Remember that even if the community goals are met, you’ll have to contribute your own individual portion to progress forward and earn the rewards.

Participate in this Event Tome to unlock Outfits well-suited for Halloween mischief, from hiding in the Rotten Fields to lurking at the Backwater Swamp:
 • Kate Denson’s Cornfield Scarecrow
 • The Hag’s Swamp Creature

You’ll also be able to take home several special Event Charms, all of which capture that Halloween vibe you know and love:
 • Lil’ Monster
 • Megcrow
 • Creepy Corn
 • Candy Spiders

Tome 13: MALEVOLENCE of The Archives is now available!

Dead by Daylight’s Tome 13: MALEVOLENCE features new memories for The Ghost Face, Mikaela Reid, and the House of Arkham.

Plummet into the devious mind behind the mask. Discover what keeps a horror aficionado up at night. Uncover eldritch secrets long buried, concealing a terrifying truth beyond rationality.
NEW MEMORIES
The Ghost Face – Beneath The Mask

To see his hard-earned image lampooned was downright offensive. Such a gross misunderstanding of his message. It wasn’t even smart enough to be satire. It was bold-faced disrespect, and it would not go unpunished.

Mikaela Reid – And Soon The Fog

For year, Mikaela found comfort in the dark delights of horror fiction. But when it came time to put pen to paper and conjure her own spooky tales, she was met with an entirely different sort of fear: writer’s block.

The House of Arkham

Even to those aware of its presence, The Entity remains shrouded in mystery. Yet there are some who seek its favor, whose twisted rituals are reserved for the darkest crevices of the Earth.
NEW OUTFITS
Tome 13: MALEVOLENCE offers glimpses into the memories of The Ghost Face and Mikaela Reid, shining a light on their lives before The Fog.

Progress through the Free Track and Premium Track of The Rift to unlock Outfits for The Ghost Face, Mikaela Reid, The Wraith, and Meg Thomas, and more – as well as Community-Contest winning Outfits for The Artist, and Yui Kimura. And that’s not all. For the first time, you can progress beyond Tier 70 to unlock Deep Rift Outfits, variations of new Outfits exclusive to The Rift.

We’re happy to confirm that the Free Track will now include a total of 500K Bloodpoints, which ensures that every tier will earn players a new reward. You’ll also be able to unlock four new masks for The Ghost Face, including one that really highlights his macabre sense of humor. Wassup?
NEW CHALLENGES
Complete challenges to progress further in the Tome and its associated Rift. Tomes are separated into several Levels, each containing a new layout for the Auris Web with more challenges, lore entries, Bloodpoints, and Rift Fragments.

Tome 13 features the new Pink Glyph for Survivors, which may be the most dangerous challenge yet. Approach the Glyph without being seen for too long – otherwise, you’ll end up Exposed for a moderate duration. Plan your routes carefully, take cover, and don't forget to look over your shoulder.

The memories of The Ghost Face, Mikaela Reid, and more await in TOME 13: MALEVOLENCE, now available to unlock.

See you in The Fog,

The Dead by Daylight team.
