The Descend Beyond Chapter is Now Available on Steam

Descend Beyond is a new Chapter for Dead by Daylight.

Talbot Grimes – The Blight– was once a bright and ambitious chemist who sought to enhance humanity through the use of his compounds, only to become a victim of his own ambitions. After his research was stolen, The Blight was lured into the Realm of the Entity by the promise of new, forbidden knowledge.

The new Survivor is Felix Richter, an eccentric architect with a unique vision. Returning to the mysterious island where his father had disappeared, Felix descended into the darkness beyond and was never seen again.

Dead by Daylight gets new Killer, Survivor, cosmetic goodies, and "major" graphics update

Behaviour Interactive's asymmetric horror fest Dead by Daylight is in for another update, which ushers in a brand-new Survivor, Killer, and batch of in-game cosmetic goodies. Oh, and all players will be getting a "major graphical update that will be available for free for all players, on all platforms".

The horror game's new chapter is titled Descend Beyond, and its headline Killer is a once "bright and ambitious", but now very scary and corrupt Scottish chemist, a press release explains. His name is Talbot Grimes - now known as The Blight - and he "played one too many times with human lives for profits". He used the "compounds" he created as a kid of bargaining chip to save his own skin, but now he's been betrayed by the ones who originally showed him mercy. "As he descended into darkness, the Entity bestowed him a field of bright orange flowers. A new Killer had stepped into the Fog." Shudder.

The new Survivor, on the other hand, is a "brilliant" architect from Austria called Felix Richter - and his family has long been tied to a secret society.

Dead by Daylight is getting a 'massive' graphical overhaul starting next week

Dead by Daylight's developers are industriously anticipating the launch of the next console generation, and that's good news for PC players. Developer Behaviour Interactive plans to release Dead by Daylight on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and that's going to mean a major graphical overhaul for the PC edition of the game.

The graphics overhaul is going to be available on all platforms, not just high-end PCs and next gen consoles. "The ultimate goal is to improve the immersion tenfold, making the environments as realistic as a scary, disturbing nightmare", Behaviour says in a press statement released today. "The lighting and VFX will be vastly upgraded, as well as the modeling, textures, and animations. More props will be added to the maps, and proper functions will be given to rooms to make them more identifiable."

Dead by Daylight players will start seeing the first bits of the update start trickling into the game soon. Next week's Dead by Daylight patch will include enhanced versions of some of the game's common assets like lockers and generators, with more added every six weeks.

4.1.3 | Bugfix Patch

The 4.1.3 Bugfix Patch is now live on Steam. This patch includes fixes for sync errors (Error Codes 111 & 112).

While running version 4.1.3, you will still be able to cross-play with people running version 4.1.2 of the game on other platforms.

Many in-game objects in Dead By Daylight haven't been changed significantly since the game's launch. As part of our ongoing effort to enhance the game's visuals, many of these objects got visual updates in this patch to bring them closer to our long-term vision for the appearance of the game. Some realms also got visual updates (Yamaoka Estate and Springwood), with more coming later in future patches.
