Klei Fest Tournament 2021



Greetings Hot Lava fans!

June 3rd is the KLEI PUBLISHER SALE! All Klei Entertainment games will be on sale on the Steam store so if you don’t have a copy of Hot Lava on Steam, or if you’re looking to buy a copy for a friend, now is the perfect time to pick one up.

As an extra added bonus to celebrate Klei Fest, Hot Lava is having a special Klei Fest Tournament - a new trial course which pits players against a diabolically Klei-swag-outfitted LORD SLUDGE!

Find the Klei Fest Tournament 2021 trial in Playground to start your run. Beat Lord Sludge to the finish line using the Boost Jump Ability and win an exclusive Klei Fest 2021 shirt to show off to all your friends.

This trial also features a Global Leaderboard so you can track your rise to world domination (in Hot Lava)! The Klei Fest trial will run for 4 weeks, until June 30th at 10am PDT, to give everyone enough time to pick up the Klei shirt and work on their lava jumping skills.

Don’t Starve Together is celebrating summer with the "Midsummer Cawnival!". Our survivors have been greeted by the enigmatic Corvus Goodfeather, who needs a bit of help preparing the festivities for his crow compatriots. [h2]NEW! T.O.X.I.C. Team-up[/h2]

A brand new update brings two brand new members to the T.O.X.I.C. roster: Poizone’s robotic army, the Infected Infantry! And Lord Sludge’s molten magma monster form, the
Megamortabeast!

[h2]NEW! Vault Jump Ability[/h2]
Along with these hot new characters comes one cool new move, the Vault Jump! Give yourself an extra boost to reach those platforms that are just a *little* too far away. And if you’re bummed you can’t test out this new move with your favorite characters...well we’ve got some news for you!

[h2]NEW! Choice[/h2]
We’ve decoupled abilities from their characters so you can now use any character you want with any ability: Sue Nami with Double Jump; Poizone with Boost; Hazard with Slide Jump - go ahead and mix it up!

You also might notice some slick new UI in the game designed to make your lava jumping experience all the more pleasant.

[h2]NEW! Items[/h2]
Every character’s progression levels have been bumped up to 60 possible levels. So get in there and jump around to unlock some new stickers, action files, emotes, and new skins. As an added bonus we’re also giving everyone free Sea Stealth G.A.T. skins for this Spring update, just because we love you all so much.

If you can’t get enough of all things G.A.T., there are all new G.A.T. lore descriptions for Head, Back, and Trinket accessories. Read through them all to learn about the exploits of all your favorite characters.

[h2]NEW! Leaderboards[/h2]
You asked. We listened. Leaderboards are now split up by ability so you can save separate times and replays for each one. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your times) we had to reset leaderboards to accomplish this. Fear not, your locally saved replays are still available in their original directory, but your times pulled from Steam will be reset.

As a bonus feature we’ve also added the ability to change your profile. Free yourself from the tyranny of sharing times with your little sister! Or, if you just want to experience the thrill of unlocking all your items again, now is the perfect time to jump in and get moving. Let the competition begin!

Hot Lava SDK Update -- Let Your Creativity Run Wild!



A new SDK update is now available for anyone who wants to create their own worlds inside Hot Lava. This release brings some major new features and lots of little fixes and improvements.

[h2]T.O.X.I.C. Moves[/h2]
T.O.X.I.C. has invaded Hot Lava SDK! Lord Sludge and Poizone's new moves are now available to add to community maps. Explore new challenges with the double jump or slide jump movesets.

[h2]New LavaEmitter[/h2]
A simmering new lava generator automatically makes better looking - and sounding! - lava. Just enable the excellent new LavaEmitter to fill your your homemade map's lava with vfx and sfx.

[h2]Improvements and Bug Fixes[/h2]
We’ve also added lots of fixes and modkit usability improvements, including some great advancements in the Randomizer gamemode. We’ve ironed out a bunch of issues and added more Inspector info to make it easier to use Randomizer to create daily challenges generated from fragments of your existing courses!
