What game engines have I used?

[p]Hello there, back again with a daily post.[/p][p][/p][p]This time, about the engines I've used and my experience with them.[/p][p][/p][p]Since I do have a tendency to change engines constantly (my bad)[/p][p][/p][p]A short but sweet post![/p][p][/p][p](Don't forget to check out my new game coming out august 1st, Five Nights At Stickman)[/p][p][/p][p]Cucumber Champion, made with UNITY. [/p][p][/p][p]-- I like unity, and can see myself working with it more in the future.[/p][p]-- Although, it was also a learning curve. But it was fun enough to make a game with.[/p][p][/p][p]Biorage, made with First Person Shooter Creator Black Ice Advanced Mod[/p][p][/p][p]-- An easier engine ofcourse, although the easier they come, the more annoying they can be.[/p][p]-- It had MAJOR limitations. It was HELL sometimes to make levels. [/p][p]-- They worked fine in the engine, and then broke in the exported game.[/p][p]-- The BIMA mod did introduce cool overhauls. But the core OLD engine was still in there.[/p][p]-- For example, if the export went beyond 2GB of memory? It broke.[/p][p]-- This SEVERELY limited my levels and my graphics. [/p][p]-- Hence why Biorage is very audio focused, and very "keep moving" focused.[/p][p]-- It's a miracle that Biorage functions the way it does! [/p][p]-- All this talk, but I still had a lot of fun (likely won't make a new game with the engine tho..)[/p][p][/p][p]The cancelled game, BitBox, made with Rosebud AI[/p][p][/p][p]-- Yeah....this was an experiment. An AI can make games?!....Well no....[/p][p]-- Rosebud was more a coding tool, that creates basic enviroments with JAVA and THREE.[/p][p]-- Pretty cool, pretty limiting, although the stuff I made had some cool tones to it.[/p][p]-- Was it difficult? I'd say it was annoying.[/p][p]-- It was cool to DO, don't get me wrong, quite fascinating even.[/p][p]-- but....thousands of prompts for a single game felt..cheap, and the results weren't even that great;[/p][p]-- TLDR, AI for game creation is....controversial, Rosebud......is just kinda trash. (but still cool)[/p][p]-- TLDR2, BitBox was still quite fun, but the ENGINE was....meh. (too expensive as well)[/p][p][/p][p]Five Nights At Stickman, made with GDEVELOP5[/p][p][/p][p]-- Nothing bad too say, a visual editor was a nice fresh thing. It challenged me again like unity.[/p][p]-- it was really fun to use. The downside being GDEVELOP costs MONEY to export games commercially.[/p][p]-- Other than that, it's actually a really nice engine. Very UI friendly. (likely because it's also for mobile)[/p][p]-- Had some errors exporting, quickly fixed.[/p][p][/p]
WHAT'S NEXT
[p][/p][p]Well, GDEVELOP might be a contender for another game. [/p][p][/p][p]There's always the easier engines, but the downsides are sometimes major. [/p][p][/p][p]Let's take functions, you want to do something specific in unity? You can likely do so.[/p][p][/p][p]In easy engines? Not really, you'd need to custom overwrite so many things. (I did this a lot with biorage)[/p][p][/p][p]However does that mean I don't wanna try? Well no, Gameguru and Gameguru max for example look decent enough to give a chance. But I do not want a biorage repeat ofcourse.[/p][p][/p][p]Yapping, yapping, yapping, I'm done[/p]
