Dev Log 1: The Colors of Berghain

[p]It’s been about three weeks since we announced Dogpile and released our demo here on Steam.[/p][p][/p][p]While our numbers are still small and we’ve only just begun, we wanted to say a massive thank you for all the bug reports, feedback, and, most importantly, the dog pictures on our Discord (well mostly dog pictures).[/p][p][/p][p]We also wanted to share a little behind the scenes. So, what is Dogpile? It’s a weird mix of Sukia and Balatro — a funny, addictive roguelike deck-builder where you merge cute dogs into even bigger dogs.[/p][p][/p][p]Fun fact of the week (we’re hoping to make this a weekly devlog — but don’t blame us if we don’t!): one of our color palettes was directly inspired by Berghain. One of our friends went there (for those who don’t know, it’s a popular club in Berlin where you stand in line way too long), and we asked her what the colors looked like inside. She described them, and we turned that into an actual palette for the game.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Game dev inspiration can come from anywhere.
[/p][p]We’ve actually only been working on Dogpile for about five months. If you’re a fellow dev, you know that’s not a lot of time to announce a demo, release it, and already be part of Steam Next Fest. Let’s just say we’re on an insane quest to make Dogpile your most-wanted game.[/p][p][/p][p]For now, please keep posting those bugs and feedback, it’s incredibly helpful for us.[/p][p]
