The Weapon Clipping Update! (Among many other fixes)

Hello everyone! Sigyaad here, sorry for the delay, this update took a little longer than I thought. But as promised from the last update, I'm releasing an update that fixes several bugs and added sound effects, including fixing the pesky weapon clipping bug! Yaaay!

The changes are as follows

MAJOR FIXES/CHANGES:
  • Fixed weapons clipping through walls and enemies
  • Rabbits can now go through doors
  • Added sound effects for weapon pickups, jumping and doors
  • Fixed hitboxes on map 5 being too big
  • Fixed the pistol bunny's corpse sometimes disappearing after death
  • Replaced the final boss music
  • Fixed a bug where the dash attack would do too much damage on bosses
  • Fix a bug where shotgun bunny bullets wouldn't follow the player


Minor changes/fixes
  • Fixed bunny tail flailing after death
  • Fixed map 5 having 2 doors at the end
  • Fixed map 7 clipping issue at first hallway door Done
  • Replaced the bullet projectiles that are shot from weapons
  • Fixed toilets and shower materials not being double sided
  • Fixed map 8 text not showing
  • Fixed floating lab equipment on map 9
  • Fixed wall texture clipping on map 9
  • Fixed being able to move too fast on map 10
  • Fixed z clipping on map 10
  • Fixed clipping on hub world map DONE
  • Reworded difficulty text to be more accurate
  • Reworded the exit game text to be more accurate
  • Fixed a bug where the player could move during difficulty selection
  • Pausing during dialogue is now disabled to prevent unexpected behavior
  • Fixed P-90 bullets not affecting ragdolls
  • Fixed certain bullet effects being too big
  • Fixed a bug where sakuyas hp would go into negative values
  • Fixed a bug where you cant jump on certain bridges
  • Fixed a bug where the player can go out if bounds on stage 2
  • Fixed knives making a hitmarker sound if they missed an enemy
  • Fixed bullet decals incorrectly sticking to doors
  • Fixed level exits not working properly if you didn't pick up the weapons


Beautiful Maps are next!

I will now begin working on completely retouching the maps to make them look real nice and pretty, new lighting, post processing, particles, reflections, etc will all go into making them look really beautiful! Pickups & Better Weapon Availability + Roadmap!

Hello everyone, Sigyaad here with yet another update to this game! This time, I've implemented a few requested features once again into the game!

Health and Ammo pickups!


Depending on the type of enemy you defeat, they will drop either a healthkit, shotgun ammo. P-90 Ammo, Cirno plush ammo, or knife ammo! Additionally, there is now a full HP kit on every level in the normal difficulty!

Of course, on Hard and Lunatic difficulties, no HP pickups will drop.

Better Weapon Starts!

Now, you will not have every weapon available to you at the start of the game, you will have to progress towards the early levels to eventually unlock every weapon, similar to the previous I Am Sakuya game.

And finally, some bug fixes were implemented too

-Fixed a bug where dashing on a defeated enemy would stop your movement.
-Fixed a bug where the P90 and Shotgun could stop working after dashing and holding the fire button at the same time.

And now after thinking it over many times in my head, I am proud to finally give a roadmap! A rundown on what the future updates to this game will be like! Keep in mind that there may be more updates in between to fix some bugs, address balancing, etc. And updates may take longer or shorter than listed.

ROADMAP:


[h3]The big bugfix update![/h3]

This is the next update, it will aim to basically squish most or all of the bugs lingering in the game, it will also add additional sound effects to the game, such as sound effects for jumping, pickups, and opening doors.

Estimated time: Approximately 1 week or less.

[h3]The Map Rework update![/h3]

This update will aim to completely transform all of the maps into something really beautiful, lighting. rays, reflections, post processing, new artwork, etc will all be done to ensure you can look at the maps and go "Wow, this looks good!". And don't worry, it won't fry your graphics card.

Estimated time: Approximately 2 weeks

This update is the one I'm most excited to work on! I do agree with the sentiment that the way the maps look are... not up to par. I take full responsibility to that and I will continue to work on the game for as long as necessary!


[h3]More enemy variety update! [/h3]
Another update I'll be excited to work on. This update will add more enemy variety to the game (don't worry, I promise it'll be more than just different hair colors). I don't wanna spoil you all by going into specifics, but I do have some ideas that will really spice up the game!

Estimated time: Approximately 2 weeks

[h3]Better level intros and better level exits![/h3]
This update will transform the way levels start and end! Levels will have proper exits instead of just touching a room and text appearing to transport you to the next level. Stats will be dynamically displayed, immersive Touhou-style level intro will show on the start of the level and there will be new level exits with every indoor map (again, I don't want to go into specifics, but I think it will be really nice!).

Estimated time: Approximately 1 week

[h3]The quality of life update![/h3]
This update will aim to add several new bells and whistles, including quality of life update such as clothing physics, more responsive combat (if possible, I do like the current combat system hehe), key rebindings, fov slider, controller support and a level selection system!

Estimated time: Approximately 2-3 weeks, but it may be split into smaller updates.


[h3]Achievements![/h3]
Finally, when it's all said and done, I will add achievements to the game! But I plan for them to be much more involved in the game, for example, when you get an achievement for clearing the game, a trophy will appear in the hub world! Or maybe when you defeat enough enemies, a bunny plushie will appear in your room! Lots of cool ideas to try, but this update will have to come when every major update to this game is finished, essentially, the cherry on top! The mint under the pillow!

Dash attack and shotgun altfire is here!

Hello everyone! Sigyaad here again with another important update to the game!

This update adds a few features and bugfixes to the game, most notably...

[h2]The Dash Attack! [/h2]

When you dash, you become invulnerable and perform a melee attack that instantly kills enemies! This lets you perform a string of stylish dashes and makes approaching enemies a lot more accessible! Be careful not to whiff/miss your dash though!

The game feel MUCH better to play with this update! Give it a go!

Additionally, an altfire has been added for the shotgun! The altfire fires less shots, but uses much less ammo! Perfect for headshotting bunnies at close range!

Lastly, some bugfixes have been implemented, they are as follows:

  • Fixed a bug where the player could get stuck in some homes on level 4
  • Fixed a bug where the knives would explode incorrectly on hard and luanatic difficulties
  • Fixed a bug where the knives would explode upon colliding with the enemy bullets


[h2]Pickups and a reworked tutorial are next![/h2]

One of the feedback points I've gotten is that it feels kinda awkward to have all the weapons available at the start, and I agree! The next update I will gradually introduce new weapons across the starting levels. The next update will also add pickups for ammo and health, that way I can tweak the weapons and bosses better while also incentivising the player to fight the bunnies!

The Bosses and Bugfix update!

Hello everyone! Sigyaad here with another update to the game, this update introduces stronger bosses, new boss health bars, and a lot of the major bugs crushed! The changes are as follows

  • Bosses are now stronger and can no longer be instantly killed
  • Bosses now have custom health bars!
  • Fixed a bug where the bunnies would tpose before opening the door
  • Fixed a bug where bunnies would shoot after dying
  • Fixed a bug where the sound volume wouldn't work on weapons except for the revolver
  • Fixed weapon projectiles moving too slowly
  • Fixed bullets sometimes  going through walls mostly
  • Fixed bunnies in level 4 not being activiated
  • Fixed boss names showing incorrectly during dialogue
  • Fixed sakuya's hitbox  being a little tall
  • Fixed p90 reload's reload causing a delay
  • Fixed weapons showing thier particles upon switching
  • Fixed a bug where enemies would dodge shots unexpectedly
  • Fixed door hitboxes so they cant be shot at when closed, but can be shot at when open
  • Fixed a bug where the game would start muted


There's a few minor bugs I haven't squashed yet, but rest assured it's being worked on!

What's next?[/h2]

Next up, I'll be adding some more gameplay features, such as the shotgun altfire and a dash attack that should make the game much more fluid and satisfying! After that, I would like to introduce a re-worked tutorial and combat system that includes weapon pickups and not having every weapon available at the start. And of course, after that, there would still be more and more updates to come!
