[p]11 years, 7 months and 18 days. [/p][p]That's how long Borderless Gaming has been forcing games into borderless windows. A year ago we told you we were rewriting everything from scratch. Today, we're shipping something completely new.[/p][hr][/hr][h2]Everything is different[/h2][p]
The old Borderless Gaming was held together with duct tape and prayers. It worked, mostly, but it was showing its age. Windows has changed. Games have changed. Hell, monitors have changed.

So we threw it all out and started over.


[/p][h3]The engine is completely new[/h3][p][/p][p]Games that never worked before? They work now. The windowing engine has been rewritten from the ground up to handle more titles and all the weird stuff even the most obscure game might throw at it.[/p][p][/p][h3]App Containers are wild[/h3][p][/p][p]You can now run your game inside a container with custom backgrounds - colors, gradients, images, whatever. Then upscale it with Ctrl+Shift+Plus/Minus. No input lag. Just works. [/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][h3]Profiles replaced Favorites[/h3][p][/p][p]The old Favorites system is dead. Profiles are better:

BGUS - Our upscaling algorithm. Think DLSS but for any game.
BGFG - Frame generation. More frames, same hardware.
AppContainer Shaders - CRT filters, color correction, whatever shader you want on any game.

Hey everyone,

You might be wondering, "v1.0.0? Aren't we on v10?" Well, yes and no. Borderless Gaming has been completely rewritten from the ground up, so it felt right to reset the version number.

[h2]Why the rewrite?[/h2]

I created Borderless Gaming almost a decade ago for a simple reason - to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance while chatting with friends. Since then, Windows has changed a lot, and the old codebase was struggling to keep up. Adding new features became a hassle, and maintaining backwards compatibility (even for XP!) was slowing me down.

[h2]What's new?[/h2]

• Profiles replace Favorites: I've introduced a new profile system that's more flexible and powerful.
  
  
  
• DPI-aware window handling: Set custom sizes and get consistent results across different displays.
  

[h2]Beta status and future plans[/h2]

Most features from the previous version are here, but this is a beta. I'm counting on you all to report any bugs you find. Some things, like UI localization, aren't ready yet. Don't worry - I've hired professionals to translate the app into 20+ languages for the full release.

PS: An important note for retro gamers out there. The versions that support XP-Windows 7 and version 10 of Borderless Gaming will still be available as branches once this new version is released.
