Post-PAX South update

Howdy, Sports Fan!

Rick here with a quick update on what's going on with SSDT. I am chipping away at my bug list, adding some minor features, and prepping for launch on a new platform!

I'll have details on the new platform launch soon, but until then, here's a sample of what Windows players can look forward to in the next update:

  • More advanced AI for higher CPU levels in Free-For-All
  • No more moon-walking players at the end of a round
  • Overtime is now either Sudden Death (default setting), or not Sudden Death (optional). No more hard-to-explain "that one overtime round where you can change characters then another X minutes before Sudden Death kicks in if the scores are still tied"
  • CPU players now dunk more reliably (scales with difficulty setting)
  • ¡Español! Well, the UI anyway! A fan generously helped out with the Spanish translation of many UI elements. There were some UI adjustments that had to be made to fit some of the text, and some text has to remain in English, at least for now. But hey, it broadens the appeal of the game a bit, and that's good!
  • Invisible, but important, Season Mode preparations

There will be more fixes as well, and I'll try to get a new achievement into the next update. But with all the fixes coming, I may not be able to wait. More soon!

Post-PAX South player data analysis is complete

Over 1,500 PAX South attendees got their hands on Super Slam Dunk Touchdown, but it wasn't all fun and games. I was logging player stats behind the scenes from every game played, and I've posted the results online. Check out the amazing graphs and mind-blowing spreadsheet action. Feel free to post thoughts, questions and feedback!

Free Bonus Mini Game and an AI overhaul for Super Slam Dunk Touchdown!

Howdy Sports Fan!

Rick from Tipping Goat here! I wanted to tell you about the latest version of the wild, retro-styled, team sports mashup: Super Slam Dunk Touchdown (v1.3). The game has been updated with the latest fixes and a free multiplayer bonus mini game for all customers.

Free-For-All

The new bonus game is a real rumble royale! It's every sport for itself in this 6 player, frenetic, everyone vs. everyone battle for points! There's one goal with 3 ways to score and no goalie. Go for an easy shot in the open net, or pick a player who can try for a field goal or the hoop for more points. But you aren't alone -- take out any nearby high scoring players, stop them from charging their shots, intercept their balls and get to the point limit before anyone else!

Customize the number of AI players, the AI skill level, the maximum number of points, and even how much the different goals are worth! There's no slam dunks in this mode, so polish up on your favorite player's shooting styles in practice mode.

The new Free-For-All mini game, the standard 3 vs. 3 quickmatch and the 3 player challenge modes in Super Slam Dunk Touchdown will make a wild and chaotic addition to your local multiplayer game nights.

Upgraded AI

Tipping Goat has been hard at work rebuilding the pathfinding and shooting for the bot players this year, and the first major revision is out now! The upgraded bot players now hunt you behind the goal, charge up their shots, and shoot more reliably. They take into account the weight of the ball, their distance from the goal, and how they shoot. Additionally, the baseball and basketball bots now take full advantage of their "oddball" shooting styles, making them more worthy adversaries and more reliable teammates.

PAX South this week

Come play the latest build with a whole convention full of gamers! 2015 was the first PAX South, and Tipping Goat was the indie surprise hit of the show with a pre-alpha version of Super Slam Dunk Touchdown. Excited gamers lined up all weekend to punt, pass, punch, tackle, slam dunks and exchange high fives.

Tipping Goat is back for 2016 with the release version, updated with all the latest features and fixes. Stop by the booth to get in on the full 6 player experience, meet Tipping Goat and maybe even win an official SSDT-Shirt!

If you can't make it to the show, be sure to watch the live Twitch stream from PAX South! I'll be personally demonstrating the game live from the Twitch stage!

Thanks for reading and enjoy the latest update!
