[NEW GAME] $0.99 Otter Space Rescue - LAUNCHED!

Hello everyone! Otter Space Rescue is my first steam release in 4+ years. I made Super Hipster Lumberjack in high school, and since then have been studying at Digipen Institute of Technology for my BAGD. We make multiple games throughout a semester, and it is very difficult to work on our own projects at the same time. This game for me is an accumulation of all the hard work I've been putting in to make myself a better developer. I really hope you enjoy, and I look forward to the feedback. I would like to do future updates for the game. Possibly adding more modes, or adding more variations to the procedural building of the ships. I read pretty much any and all feedback, so feel free to use the forums on steam.

Before launch I went ahead and added a Scavenge game mode. Lots of tester wanted more ways to earn scrap to upgrade their ship. I added an infinite runner style mode, where you explore deep space wreckage for scrap. Some footage of it is up on the release trailer. Along with the other modes, so you can see what the game is about.

Thank you for reading / playing!

Super Hipster Lumberjack V2 update!!!!!

The release of Super Hipster Lumberjack has been awesome for me. Thank you so much to everyone who has played the game on Youtube and wrote reviews. I have been spending some time collecting feedback. I have made updates to the game based off of what people where saying.

1: Added an automatic save feature. Each time you start a new level the game will remember that level. However, if you hit new game it will overwrite your save automatically. It is a primitive save system and may be changed later.

2: Colors. I got some complaints about the colors so I toned it down a bit. I also tried my best to differentiate colors the best I could.

3: Volume slider. Honestly should have been in the game from the start. Also primitive and may be changed later.

4: Music looping. I modified the audio tracks. Now the game has one audio track with all the music in the track. It will be a long time before you hear it loop.

5: You can now re size the window!

6: You won't notice this much but I did some compressing of the files. It might help a little bit with optimization. May be worked on later.

Things I am working on \ have on my mind:

1: Mac build: Steamworks is interesting and just like the next thing I need some time to look through all the documentation so I get it right.

2: Trading Cards or Achievements: i'm not sure if I will do either of those things. I am looking into the the Steamworks SDK's documentation so it might take some time.

So that wraps this update up! Let me know what you think of the update or the game.

Super Hipster Lumberjack has been released!!!!

Hey thanks for supporting Super Hipster Lumberjack. This has been an insane and humbling process for me. It was my stretch goal to get a game released on Steam by the time I finished high school. It means that much more with a year to go. I couldn't have done it without the help of the likes of Desura, Groupees, Itch, and Youtubers. They hosted my game on their platforms. Which got it exposure but most importantly good criticism. Those experiences matured my game making skills and helped me create a game I could be happy with. There has been a large amount of time between the Steam release of the game and when I actually finished the game. Super Hipster Lumberjack helped matured me and my newest projects are playing even better. This has been an awesome experience and I don't think it stops here. This is why I love making video games. I get to evolve the person I am. Thanks for joining me in the game making process and I hope you enjoy the game.
