[p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Hey Mo fans![/p][p] Time for our weekly update on the latest progress with the game![/p][p] Today we’ll walk you through two of the game’s core pillars:[/p][p] The overall role of generals and the game’s combat system.[/p][p][/p][p]As you know, most Three Kingdoms strategy games usually feature a few common types of battle systems, such as:[/p][p] Turn-based battles that balance offense and defense.[/p][p][/p][p] Real-time battles focused on troop training and city building.[/p][p][/p][p] And, the almighty FPS shooting![/p][p][/p][p]Whoops, wrong genre—my bad![/p][p][/p][p]In our game, Danmo Three Kingdoms: Battle of Wits, unlike the usual RTS with complex real-time controls or deeply strategic turn-based systems, you’ll need more thoughtful planning and a solid grasp of the basic rules upfront.[/p][p][/p][p]In our game, all you need to do is move your pieces—making it super easy to jump into battles.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, while building on traditional gameplay and keeping our own unique twist, we’ve also learned from the best ideas.[/p][p]Even outside the board, just like in RTS strategy games, you’ll need to plan your overall formations, think through attack and defense strategies, and figure out how to make the most of special tactics and alliances between different factions at critical moments.[/p][p][/p][p]And once you’re actually on the board, the battles are turn-based—simple to grasp but still strategically deep.[/p][p] You’ll use the generals’ rock-paper-scissors relationships (Cavalry → Infantry → Archers) plus individual and combo strength.[/p][p]In open-field encounters, you clash to test your combat power, while in city sieges, the calculations also factor in the city’s own defensive and offensive strengths.[/p][p][/p][p]The overall role of generals is a whole other story. In Danmo Three Kingdoms: Battle of Wits, each general has their own unit type, starting combat strength, and deployment cost. Some of the more famous, powerful generals even come with unique skills and special tactics.[/p][p][/p][p]Unit types are key to the rock-paper-scissors dynamic, and when units of the same type join forces, they can launch combo attacks to deal even heavier damage to the enemy.[/p][p][/p][p]Combat strength and deployment points determine how you’ll think about building the strongest team within your limited roster slots.[/p][p] Generals with unique talents or those one-time, game-changing special tactics usually require even more points to include in your lineup.[/p][p][/p][p]After being defeated, all your pieces can retreat back to a city to regroup. After resting for two turns, they can be redeployed to fight again in any of your cities.[/p][p]——[/p][p][/p][p]Beyond these basic rules,[/p][p]one thing that really stands out is that,[/p][p]unlike traditional Three Kingdoms games where generals are locked to their factions, here you have complete freedom to mix and match your lineup.[/p][p] Want to gather all the heavy-hitters like Lü Bu and Guan Yu in one team? Go for it. Prefer to lock in the Qiao sisters with Sun Shangxiang and Diao Chan? That works too. It’s all up to your personal choice![/p][p][/p][p]Uh… does anyone else suddenly feel like their brain is being flooded with knowledge, eyes shooting out mysterious civilization rays…?[/p][p] Don’t worry! Let’s just throw an egg and chill for a sec.[/p][p][/p][p]All in all, when we first designed Danmo Three Kingdoms: Battle of Wits, our goal was to let more fans play easily and quickly. At the same time, different team compositions and skill combos create enough depth for everyone to explore. That’s where we’re at—[/p][p][/p][p] Come on, aren’t you tempted to add us to your Steam wishlist?[/p][p]Thanks so much for your support! It really means a lot to us!
