Greetings, Ascended!

Celebrate with us the Carnival of the Ascended 2021, marking the 10th anniversary of the release of Rift. The World Event will start on March 25th and will last 4 weeks, until April 22nd, 2021 at 15.30.00 local server time.

The event will have three distinct phases that start on the following dates:
- Phase 1: Thursday 25th of March
- Phase 2: Thursday 15th of April at 15.30.00 local server time
- Phase 3: Thursday 22nd of April at 15.30.00 local server time
- End of the event: Thursday 29th of April at 15.30.00 local server time


What can you look forward to?


New Artifact Sets

• Added three new Artifact sets. Collecting each one will be rewarded a Celebration Chest containing, among other items, 4 Auroral Doubloons!

Our Overlord
- Completing a 4-hour Carnival Minion Mission has a 50% chance to drop a Celebration Bag for Overlords that will grant a random artifact of this set.

Hero Generation
- Among the rewards for killing one of the Carnival IA bosses, players will receive a Celebration Bag for Adventurers that will grant a random artifact of this set.

Pinata Candy
- Hunt Pinatas across Telara for a 50% chance to drop a Celebration Bag for Pinata Hunters that will grant a random artifact of this set.

• Collect and complete all the three new artifact sets to earn the True Veteran achievement, which will give the "Elder" prefix title and 100 platinum.


New Minion

• Uncover the story of the old Ascended Trillian Lockwert by acquiring its Minion Card
- Upon collecting it, a chain of 11 Minion Missions will be unlocked. Complete them all to acquire 5 new Minions, 4 collectible journal entries with Trillians story, and some additional Carnival of the Ascended currency!
- Get the full group to level 25 to unlock the "Long-lived" suffix Title through an achievement.


Updated LootTables

• The Pinata Prize Bags obtained in Carnival IAs can now drop some of the pets added during the Carnival of the Ascended in 2020!


New Items

• Support your faction! Obtain one of the Guardian Valmeras or the Defiant Warhorses with Auroral Doubloons or Credits to show your support and unlock an exclusive title through an achievement.

• Complement your faction looks with the Ascended Guardian or Defiant Wings. Or be a proud Telaran with the Tenth Anniversary Cape.

• The new Tenth Anniversary Cake will grant you a raid consumable granting 100 Endurance and it was modeled after the real Rift Release Cake that the studio made 10 years ago for the launch! Also available as a Dimensional item to sweeten your home.

• Ever wanted to trick others to be Unicorns and join your cavalry? The Fancy Celebration Cake can be placed for everyone to turn into Carnival Unicorns and ride along with you and will grant a special achievement with a vanity unlock: the Celebration Ruff!


Fixes

• Store - Fixed an issue with older Carnival Dimensional items not appearing unless all class types were selected.

• Dimension - Floating Platform Device no longer duplicates itself visually when rotating the item in a dimension.

• Mystic Archer - Legendary Ride the Wind now reduces the cast time of Summoning Quiver as expected.

• Oracle - Prevented an exploit where Legendary Insignia of Blood could be triggered with non-damaging abilities.

Prepare your weapons and ready yourselves; season six of Battle Pass is live now!

The sixth season will be live from Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00pm server time, until March 18, 2021 at 16:30pm server time.

What can you look forward to? Here is an overview of the new Battle Pass season – Typhoon of Doom:


Daily Battle Pass Quest Changes:
- Rare Mob hunt requirement reduced from 6 to 2
- Celestial Rare Mob hunt requirement reduced from 5 to 3
- Zone specific Rift quests requirement reduced from 5 to 3
- Artifact harvest (Normal difficulty) reduced from 10 to 5
- Artifact harvest (Hard difficulty) reduced from 50 to 10
- Zone specific Zone Event quest difficulty increased from Normal to Hard (3000 BPXP)
- Kill PVP-flagged players quest requirements reduced from 100 to 15 for Hard difficulty
- Kill PVP-flagged players quest requirements reduced from 50 to 10 for Normal difficulty
- Added more zone variety for Rift closing quests, and Zone Event quests.
- Replaced the Random Expert Dungeon daily with a dual quest. This quest will always appear in the daily pool. The quest requires to either:
- Complete a Random Expert Dungeon
OR
- Win a Random Warfront


Weekly Battle Pass Quest changes:
- Close planar Rift quest requirements reduced from 25 to 15
- Foothold hunt requirements reduced from 25 to 15
- Rare Zone Mob hunt requirements reduced to 2, regardless of the zone
- Burning Artifact harvest requirement reduced from 45 to 20
- Added quests for harvesting different types of artifacts (Any, Unstable, Twisted, Poison, Nightmare). Quantities vary depending on the artifact type
- Instant Adventure quest requirement increased from 25 to 40
- Kill PVP-flagged players quest requirements reduced from 1000 to 100


Battle Pass Merchant:
- Added Artifact Set from the Legion of Corpses Season
- Added the Patron Summon Banker ability from the Legion of Corpses Season
- Added the new Crown of the Typhoon Duchess and the Dimension Kit: Sky City Structures
- Added a new Minion, Ventus the Prophet, to the Battle Pass vendor Huckster Ratioskr in Tempest Bay. Collect and complete the "Typhoon Hunter" Artifact Set from the Battle Pass Season 6 to unlock it for purchase using Expertise Shards.

- After the Battle Pass Season is over, players will have 7 days to claim all pending rewards. During this time, players can acquire the Battle Pass and claim all regular tier

We hope all of you had a great start into 2021! In order to welcome you to this new year, the Budgies are back – with the Budgie Madness Call-to-Action Event!

Earn Chaos Motes by finishing special daily quests. The Questgivers can be found in Meridian, Sanctum and Tempest Bay.


Get your riding boots and prepare for the ride of your life! Join the Budgie Races and earn yourself your own feathery friend!
Some seasoned professionals may be out on that race track, so here are some tips to be the just like them:

• Stay within the marked path!
• White checkpoints need to be hit throughout the race.
• Make sure to make it to the Green boosts first to receive Terminal Velocity to make your opponents eat your dust.
• Avoid Orange Traps, they’ll only slow you down!

Stock up as many Chaos Motes as possible and trade them in for mounts and pets!

Budgie Madness will start on Friday, January 8, at 12am Server Time, and end on Sunday, January 10, at 11:59pm Server Time.

The World Event begins today, December 10, 2020 at 3.30 PM local server time and will conclude on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 3.30 PM local server time.

Adjustments
The price of previous year's pets and minions has been lowered permanently.


New Essences
Push the limits of your essences with the new Seraphic Zephyr and Seraphic Torrent Unique essences, with a focus on each of the main stats.
Shadowpriest (WIS), Shadowcaller (INT), Shade Stalker (DEX), and Death Knight (STR) versions are available.


New Vanity and Mounts
The Fae whisper about the evil alchemist that lurks in the dark hunting those boglings that have misbehaved this year. Remind them about their folk tales with the Nebulous Omen Cape or the Infinity Flask vanity items.

Always loved the starry nights in Telara? The new Astral Wings and the Astral Voyager levitation mount are here to immortalize its beauty! But if you prefer to see the stars by yourself, get on top of the Mighty Woolly Explorer, our new mount, and travel to the highest mountains to enjoy the view. Remember to stay warm though, or you will end up looking like our new Icy Levitation, a special levitation that makes you frosty!


New Minions
Welcome Mr.Quackers and Leah the Cool to the roster of minions! These two old pals are still looking for their long lost friend Frosty Paws.
Collect both minions to unlock the exclusive title "Winter Spirit" and level them both to level 15 to unlock the minion "Frosty Paws"!


New Pets
The forecast from the Icewatch was correct. This winter is going to be one of the coldest in Telara, and the patrols are starting to find out all kinds of frozen creatures.
Consider adopting one to warm it up? The new frozen pet set is available! Collect Flurry, Snowfall, Drift, Avalanche, Slush, Tundra, Powder, Glacier, Sleet or Rime!
