FF14 and FF7 team-up is a "great idea," Rebirth director says

There's nothing in life I want more than a big Final Fantasy 14 and FF7 crossover. The Square Enix MMO already acts like a theme park for the series, with events bringing over other games like 16, 15, and most recently 11 with the new Dawntrail Alliance Raid - but I want more. Cloud and company need to take a trip to Eorzea, and I'm not alone in thinking so. FF14 director Naoki Yoshida has already said he's up for it, and now FF7 Rebirth's director expresses the same interest. So it's only a matter of time.

Final Fantasy 14 mobile is real, and it recreates the early days of the MMO

Yes, you read that headline right, the Final Fantasy 14 mobile port is real and director Naoki Yoshida himself confirmed it. The critically acclaimed MMO with one heck of a free trial is officially coming to mobile devices, and it looks so much better than I ever imagined it would. Good news, Final Fantasy 14 is coming to mobile, meaning you'll be able to play the big RPG/MMO thing on the loo without having to haul your bulky setup in there, or do some trickery with keeping doors open so you can still see the screen.

Square Enix apologizes for controversial FF14 hairstyle following fan backlash

Square Enix is apologizing for the confusion surrounding one of the new Final Fantasy 14 hairstyles introduced in patch 7.1, as it greatly differs from the contest winner that influenced it. The new 'Doing the Wave' hairstyle is described as "inspired by" one of the winners of the game's Hairstyle Design Contest in 2023, but many players are upset that Square Enix's finished version looks nothing like the style it's based upon. In response, Square Enix says it will "look for other ways" to bring the curly-haired contest winner into the MMO in the future.
