FFXIV Endwalker Raid release time - Pandaemonium and v6.01 drops soon

The first raid for Final Fantasy XIV's new Endwalker expansion is coming this week along with update 6.01. Fans will have to survive eight hours of the MMO being offline for maintenance but when it's back up they'll be able to try out Pandaemonium at last.

The first Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker raid release time is December 21 at 2:00 AM PST / 5:00 AM EST / 10:00 AM GMT / 7 PM JST, which is the same time as update 6.01 drops. Before that, the game will be offline for a full eight hours of maintenance - not that many will notice, that's about average for queue times since the Endwalker expansion launched.

As previously confirmed in the last roadmap, when the 6.01 patch drops on Tuesday it'll give access to the first high-end raid for the Endwalker expansion - Pandaemonium, or specifically the normal difficulty of the raid's first tier, Pandaemonium: Asphodelos. Two weeks from then on January 4, 2022, the Savage difficulty will drop with version 6.05.

Temporary Suspension of Sales and Free Trial Registrations

On Thursday, December 16, FFXIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida released a response providing several updates addressing current congestion issues.

Players are currently experiencing extremely long wait times due to the dense concentration of play hours which far exceed server capacity, especially during the peak times. To reduce congestion, the sale and delivery of FINAL FANTASY XIV Starter Edition and Complete Edition will be temporarily suspended. Additionally, although those with an active subscription are prioritized to log in, Free Trial players are unable to log in outside of late night and early morning hours. Thus, new registrations for the Free Trial will also be temporarily suspended.

Expansion packs and Collector's Edition digital upgrades will continue to be available for existing players so that they may upgrade as needed.

Additionally, all players who currently own the full version of the game and have an active subscription as of Tuesday, December 21, at 12:00 a.m. (PST) / 8:00 (GMT), will be granted additional game time compensation.

Final Fantasy XIV is so popular, Square Enix are stopping selling it

Final Fantasy XIV is suffering from success, thanks, in part, to its recently released Endwalker expansion. Despite updates to ease server errors and long queue times, players are still struggling to log into the game. So, Square Enix have only gone and done it. They've temporarily suspended sales of the game, as well as new registrations for the free trial version. Even adverts are being stopped for now.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker is so popular devs are suspending sales again

Square Enix is temporarily suspending digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker due to the popularity of the new expansion. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida has delivered an update on the MMO's login times and server congestion, further confirming that the free trial will also be suspended and that players will be getting more free game time.

"Players are currently experiencing extremely long wait times due to the dense concentration of play hours which far exceed our server capacity, especially during the peak times, and so we have decided to temporarily suspend the sale and delivery of Final Fantasy XIV's starter and complete edition," Yoshida says. "Additionally, although those with an active subscription are prioritised to log in, free trial players are unable to log in outside of late night and early morning hours, and so we will also temporarily suspend new registrations for the free trial."

Yoshida explains that the temporary suspensions will be phased in over the next few days and that the team will pull all new advertisements for the expansion. If you're an existing player, expansion packs and collector's edition digital upgrades will continue to be available.
