DriveWave v1.4.0 — The One Where DriveWave Realizes It’s a Driving Game
[p]Hey everyone,[/p][p]It’s been a while since the last update. Most of my time is going into getting Metal Thunder ready, but that doesn’t mean DriveWave has been ignored. With this update, I can finally say DriveWave is in a genuinely solid spot in terms of UX and general feel.[/p]
You can actually drive the cars now. Literally.[p]
[/p][p]There are three tracks/maps in the game where you can take any unlocked car out for a spin. I’ve also tweaked engine sounds so each car feels a bit more true to itself. Treat driving as a BETA, though. I tested things, but not in a “professional QA” sense, so expectations should be adjusted accordingly. Still, some cars feel surprisingly good already. You can also drive with controllers.
[/p][p][c]Now, what is a patch without QoL tweaks and bug fixes
I genuinely don’t know. I’ve never seen one.[/c][/p][p]
Here’s the rest:[/p]
I changed a few more small things, but I didn’t keep notes, so that’s all I can confidently list.[/p][p]Back to Metal Thunder before it gets review-bombed into dust for campaign delays.[/p][p]See you around.

Here’s the rest:[/p]
- [p]Adjusted car engine sounds to be more believable and better matched to each car[/p]
- [p]Faster UI resizing so you don’t have to dive into settings anymore - Ctrl + Shift + Arrow (Left for downscale - Right for upscale) (Thank you to ACCESS_DENIIED)[/p]
- [p]Added a toggle to hide or show music controls on the game window (default is visible) (Thank you to ACCESS_DENIIED)[/p]
- [p]Added the ability to select cars directly from the Skydeck for both driving and typing
Thank you to MrEniana on the DriveWave Discord for pointing this out and being the champ he is for giving lots of QoL feature suggestions[/p] - [p]Fixed an issue where the Environment menu sometimes refused to appear after the first click[/p]
- [p]Fixed an issue where Steam Overlay gets stuck - (Thank you to Clxmj)[/p]
- [p]Adjusted Car Lot tooltips for better layout and readability[/p]
