[h2]March/April 2024 Condo Contest (Cosy Theme)[/h2]



Hey everyone!

The theme of this month's contest is Cozy!

So, make a cozy Condo - something chill, relaxing, or comforting! This could be any kind of space, so long as it captures that cozy feeling!

Note: Your submission can be a regular Condo or a Workshop Game World Map.

The submission period ends on April 18th, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

[h2]Tower Unite Anniversary Events! (0.17.10.0) - ONGOING[/h2]



To celebrate Tower Unite's debut to Early Access, our Anniversary Event is taking place!

Kalleira, wanting to celebrate with everyone, caused mayhem by bringing in all the characters and minigames from all the holiday events. Due to her magic, this event features minigames from Halloween events and Winter Holiday events all at the same time!

Work continues on getting Bumper Cars ready for release.

macdguy worked on setting up the Appearance UI, code for customizing the Bumper car, UI, Gameplay logic, Leaderboards, and Achievements.

Nuclearxpotato worked on optimizing the Bumper Car model.

Sketchman worked on achievement icons.

Will worked on music for Bumper Cars.

We've also started work on the next update to the anniversary events, which will include some bug fixes and some new items.

macdguy worked on releasing the initial update, and fixing bugs that popped up after.

Nuclearxpotato and Joshua worked on some new items.

Some new items include: Pretty Catsacks, Paper Streamers, Party Crown (in three designer colors), Catsack Guitars, and Condo equivalents of the anniversary items from the last patch.

Work continues on Bumper Cars, with the physics being ironed out and more progress being made on the UI and Arena.

macdguy worked on some bump physics for the Bumper Cars themselves.

Johanna continued working on the Bumper Cars arena.

Tower Unite Anniversary Events! (0.17.10.0)


To celebrate Tower Unite's debut to Early Access, we're starting our Anniversary Event celebrations!

Kalleira, wanting to celebrate with everyone, caused mayhem by bringing in all the characters and minigames from all the holiday events. Due to her magic, this event features minigames from Halloween events and Winter Holiday events all at the same time!



You can also earn Anniversary Coins from playing any of the game worlds or minigames in Tower and unlock anniversary themed items, Halloween items, and Winter Holiday items!

This event will last for the entire month of April, so you'll be able to take your time getting coins!


New Anniversary Items!
Head to Kalleira near the Plaza fountain!

We plan to have more anniversary items in a future update.

Two Way Block

This update comes with a new feature that should help reduce harassment in-game. Two-Way Block is a new standard for the block feature. If you block a player, the other player will automatically have you blocked as well and can no longer see/hear your chat. The player you have blocked cannot remove this block.

Co-Op Condo / Mover Fixes

There's been a lot of desync issues with co-op condos that are now resolved in this update. Before, editing items would sometimes not upload their edited values as a client to the condo host, including groups not syncing. This has all been resolved in this update. Grouping and ungrouping items will now sync properly between client and hosts, and item properties are sent properly as well.

Movers also had a known issue where restoring from save data would not always work, which is now fixed in this update.

New Condo IO Features

More condo IO items were added in this update:
  • Mover Controllable: A mover that is designed to be controlled by user input/buttons
  • Player Input Volume: A usable volume that listens to player inputs and fires outputs based on it. Has support for Forwards, Backwards, Strafe Right, Strafe Left, Jump, Run, Weapons 1-8, Flashlight, Reload, Inventory, and Context key binds
  • Global Message Module: A module that announces messages in chat or on the HUD, wish whisper support. Supports %name% keyword, which will display the player name.

  • Plaza: Surf Shop optimization pass
  • Plaza: Optimization of Boardwalk's support structure
  • Condo: Optimized all Base Physics items (including Physical Media), they now properly handle resting states and don't overcalculate when frozen or in rest state
  • Condo: Optimized Water Volume, resolving performance issues when a water volume is placed in a condo with many items
  • Condo: Optimized all light items by reducing FadeToColor calculations
  • Condo: Optimized Pile of Units, Always Lucky Slot Machine, and Treasure Chest of Units items
Condo IO Changes
  • Condo IO: Added additional SDNL gametypes to Game World Events module
  • Condo IO: Added new Mover - Mover Controllable, a mover that is designed to be controlled by user input/buttons
  • Condo IO: Added Player Input Volume, a volume that listens to player inputs and fires outputs based on it, once a player uses it. Has support for Forwards, Backwards, Strafe Right, Strafe Left, Jump, Run, Weapons 1-8, Flashlight, Reload, Inventory, and Context key binds

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed Workshop browser sometimes getting stuck loading forever
  • Condo - Coop Condo: Fixed major desyncs where clients would set item properties and the server/host would not receive all the item property changes as it would skip certain properties. This fixes long standing sync issues with co-op condos
  • Condo - Coop Condo: Fixed editing items not saving to server if you edit a different item without closing the item you are editing first
  • Condo - Coop Condo: Fixed item connections not applying when switching to IO debugger tab
  • Condo - Coop Condo: Fixed connection tool not setting selected input/outputs properly when connecting an item as a client
  • Condo - Coop Condo: Fixed Grouping not networking to the server/host if a client creates a group of items
  • Condo IO - Movers: Fixed movers not always restoring from save data properly
  • Condo/SDK: Fixed Gizmo trace distance not matching the new long trace distance
  • Condo: Fixed No Collide property not copying with Copy Cat or shift drag copy
  • Condo: Fixed Item Finder search bar inputting Q over and over when first clicked on it
  • Condo - Build UI: Fixed grouping items not updating the group info panel
  • Condo: Fixed a crash relating to Nightclub Media players and IO events
  • Condo: Fixed FadeToColor IO event not coloring emissive materials of lights
  • Condo: Fixed Water Volume top only setting not saving
  • Condo: Fixed Floating Text items being slightly off for clients
  • Condo: Fixed Blocking Volume still blocking physics items even with ignore physics setting disabled
  • Condo: Fixed sound emitters starting by default for clients even if they are set to not start by default

Last week, we released a Hot Fix addressing various bugs introduced with the Engine and Movers Update.

Johanna continued working on the Minigolf SDK and the Bumper Cars arena.

Lifeless worked on getting Lookout and Containership changes ready for release, along with a new unannounced map.

macdguy worked on getting the Movers update released, and its hotfix. He also worked on a two way player blocking system, and fixed various bugs.

Nuclearxpotato worked on various condo items, and paint masks for the Bumper Cars car.

Sketchman fixed various bugs with the engine.

Wheezwer worked with Makeship on the upcoming Dragon plush and edited event banners for use in-game and on Steam,

Will worked on music for SDNL.
