Last week, we released our January Dev Update and State of the Game for 2025. We went over the Supporter Pack 2 and the Birb Makeship plushie, as well as our development progress and a look at what we're working on next.

Nuclearxpotato continued working on a bunch of new items, including even more food and outdoor decorations!

Macaron, Tarts (Berry, Kiwi, Strawberry, Plain), Flan, Assorted Berries (Blackberry, Raspberry, and Blueberry) and Kiwi.

[h2]Plaza[/h2]

Johanna continued working on optimizations on the Plaza, getting it ready for 1.0.

Lifeless worked on the ability to buy the items on display.

macdguy worked on replacing the FUSE models of the store NPCs with the new player models.

[h2]Miscellany[/h2]

Joshua worked on reworking some wearables, giving them art passes and optimizations. Last week, he focused on the pool tubes.

Lifeless worked on tutorials for 1.0.

macdguy reworked the bowling physics networking, and came up with a new networking solution for Billiards. He also finished implementing the SDNL voice lines, fixed various bugs, and finished adding the new coin routes into Accelerate.

Sketchman continued working on optimizations and bug fixes.

wheezwer worked on the makeship campaign and the dev update.

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Tower Unite Dev Log!

Birb's got it all: the power to stun dragons, an all-you-can-eat arcade game, a statue, the adoration of the people, and, now, a plushie! Bring home Birb and feel great safety if a dragon ever decides to try and start something. Birb has it handled. You just provide the birdseed. (And hugs.)

[h2]Shooting Gallery Update (0.18.6.0)[/h2]



Last week, we released Update 0.18.6.0 which brought with it the Shooting Gallery, new Player Models, new D.I.Y interior, and more.

Doughnuts, Jelly Doughnuts, and Eclairs have multiple topping options with recolourable frosting. Holdable versions will also be available in the future.

Update 0.18.6.1

This update addresses several issues.

Changes
  • Improved main menu loading time
  • Inventory Hot Bar: Added right click > Equip and right click > Dequip
  • Stores: Added equip button to equippable items
  • Plaza: Optimized object amounts in stores to address hitches
  • Main Menu: Improved various aspects and polished up the connect area
  • Main Menu: Made "Join our Discord" more obvious and better
  • Main Menu: Improved look of notifications
  • Main Menu: Added small subtitles to some of the options for easier understanding for new players
  • Pause Menu: Improved look of the pause menu
  • Plaza: Game announcement messages now show a key prompt to inform how to interact with them
  • Plaza: Game announcement messages now no longer make a noise if you are currently busy in a game
  • Plaza: Moved currency HUD to the top right as it was blocking voice chat and game announcement messages
  • Plaza: Added game rules to the shooting galleries so players know not to shoot at birds
  • Billiards: Fixed networking not working for every second game


Optimizations
  • Plaza: Optimized object amounts in stores to address hitches
  • Plaza: Optimized game ports
  • Plaza: Optimized various particle effects


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed co-op condo spawning issues that would prevent players from being able to spawn items if they are not the condo host
  • Fixed additional hat offsets
  • Fixed some issues with player idle animations
  • Fixed Toy Robot not moving around properly
  • Fixed player model slippers not being colorable in some cases
  • Fixed Ceramic Table Lamp's body not being colorable
  • Inventory Hot Bar: Fixed sell option showing up on non-sellable items
  • Inventory Hot Bar: Fixed edit option not always showing up on multiple right clicks
  • Inventory: Fixed drag HUD showing up in Plaza when it shouldn't
  • Fixed player profile backgrounds showing up in collection book, player profile viewing, and other places where it should not show
  • right clicking on hot bar makes the right click menu never return
  • Condo - Default Condo: Fixed water post processing effects being offset
  • Plaza: Fixed Daisy floating
  • SDNL: Fixed grav glove resizing to 10x scale when a player dies
  • Virus: Fixed death camera clipping through the floor and your own infected player model


Known Issues
We are currently in the middle of resolving issues with Billiards, this update fixes Billiards physics breaking every other game, but currently Billiards is still pretty broken and this update will make it unplayable. We will have a fix for Billiards in the next update.

Currently the Game World Ports do not have their matchmaking panels. You can join games through the Plaza or start them through the main menu for the time being.

Hot Fix 0.18.6.0

This hot fix addresses several issues from the latest shooting gallery update.

  • Fixed issues with chat filters due to optimization changes would wrongly filter out certain phrases
  • Fixed a newly reported crash
  • Condo: Fixed drag copy not working
  • Condo: Fixed physics issues with balloon items, which was causing them to go to the center of the condo
  • Condo: Fixed movers and groups not always staying together
  • Plaza: Fixed shooting gallery equip sound playing loudly when first entering Arcade
  • Libretro: Fixed libretro libraries not syncing properly for the changes in 0.18.6.0. This should resolve issues where the new MAME core is missing
  • Fixed various hat offsets
  • Fixed not being able to color the new skeleton player model
  • Condo: Fixed collision issues on Fireplace Mantle item
  • Condo: Fixed emissive power on Industrial Spotlight item
  • Corn of the Dead (Arcade Shooting Gallery): Fixed gun sounds not playing for other players
