Weekly Dev Log for May 24th, 2021

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for May 24th, 2021, detailing all the changes that have happened since May 17th, 2021. Note: Devs that don't appear in the weekly log are not necessarily away or not doing work, but may be working on things currently not announced or backend work that doesn't need to be detailed.

[h2]Update 0.14.2.0 - Arcade: Phase 2[/h2]
All of our efforts are now focused on Update 0.14.2.0, which will bring Phase 2 of the Arcade, the new Fresh Store, a Plaza Update, and many other changes and bug fixes. Read more about this update here.

[h2]May 2021 Condo Contest Ending Soon![/h2]
This month's contest has no theme! You can build a structure or decorate any Condo, so long as you start working on it after this post is made (and follow the rules).

The contest ends May 31st, 2021 at 11:00 AM CST!

1st Place will win 2,000,000 units, 2nd place will win 1,000,000 units, 3rd place will win 500,000 units, and all participants may be awarded 100,000 units!

[h2]Accessibility Suggestions[/h2]
We've created a forum post asking the community for suggestions on how we can improve gameplay for players with certain conditions such as colorblindness, dyslexia, or anything else that might affect a players ability to use the standard presentation and controls of the game.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, and possible solutions on how to solve a particular issue, please check out the forum post here.

[h2]Arcade: Phase 2[/h2]

macdguy worked on tweaking the original Phase 1 games and making a bunch of improvements. He also continued working on the new Phase 2 machines.

madmijk continued working on fixes and new game modes for "Captain Calypso's Planetary Piano".

wheezwer worked on updating the machine text on some of the original Phase 1 games to reflect the changes and improvements. She's also been working on the spinner wheel and prize charts for "Dragon's Treasure".

Will worked on music for "Gears of Coin".

[h2]Update 0.14.1.4[/h2]
Last week, we released Update 0.14.1.4, which brought an end to the Tower Unite 5th Anniversary events, as well as including several bug fixes. Read more about this past update here.

Johanna worked on art polishing for "Dragon's Treasure" and "Coin River", as well as finishing the signs for them. She also updated the art for other cabinets.

macdguy worked on finalizing the coin pusher base, which will be used for "Dragon's Treasure" and "Coin River".

madmijk continued working on fixes and new game modes for "Captain Calypso's Planetary Piano".

Hot Fix 0.14.1.4

This update addresses several bugs and adds new upgrades, gameplay changes to various game worlds, and features requested by the community.

Changes
  • End of Anniversary Events
  • Minigolf: Waterhole - 18: Improved cart spline
  • Minigolf: Updated Ink/Slime Ball, Earth Ball, and Moon Ball upgrade sounds
  • Halloween remains no longer show up in the collection book
  • ZM: Werewolves now give 250pts per kill, instead of 50pts
  • ZM: Ghosts & Pumpkinheads now give 75pts per kill, instead of 50pts
  • ZM: Melee weapons now glow purple instead of blue to differentiate from ranged weapons
  • Ball Race: Added respawn key support


Bug Fixes
  • ZM: Fixed turret colliding with players
  • Arcade: Fixed buttons not animating properly
  • Arcade: Fixed Snow In achievement icon using the wrong icon
