Will he be able to charm his way off the island, or will his schemes unravel?

Father Lyons: A priest with a flexible view of morality, Father Lyons believes that some rules are meant to be bent—especially when they "hinder the well-being of one’s soul." Temple Trip is a unique game that combines the enriching subjects of geography and history, transforming them into a thrilling adventure for 2 to 10 players, ages 8 and up.

The temple race begins in Salt Lake City, the heart of this thrilling expedition, where each player will choose a starting point and select the number of temples they need to visit—typically between 5 and 6 temples.

The ultimate goal is to be the first player to visit all their assigned temples and return to the main temple in Salt Lake City.

Strategic planning is essential as players need to chart their own routes while simultaneously blocking their opponents' paths! Throughout the game, players can use "obstacle cubes" to create roadblocks that hinder others' progress. On top of that, the game offers different modes of travel, such as air travel or road trips, which can be activated on specific routes, adding depth and variety to the journey.

To start, decide how many temples each player will need to visit to win. Once that’s settled, place the pieces at the designated starting airports, and each player will receive a set of temple cards. You will also receive a red cube to represent roadwork and a black cube for adverse weather, which you can strategically use to create obstacles on your opponents' paths.

Each player takes turns rolling the dice to move across the board, racing against others to reach their assigned temples as quickly as possible. However, switching between travel modes—whether by car or plane—requires an additional task, so players need to plan their moves wisely to avoid delays. It’s not just about speed but also about managing your resources and keeping your opponents at bay.

One of the most exciting aspects of Temple Trip is the variety of routes players can choose.

Each route offers unique conditions and challenges that will test the players' decision-making abilities. Some routes involve air travel, which can give you an advantage by bypassing certain obstacles, while others require border crossings that may slow you down unless you can roll the dice successfully to bypass them.

Special Task cards add an extra element of surprise to the game, as they can reroute players to different cities or even send them on unexpected detours. These cards can drastically change the course of the game, forcing players to adapt their strategies on the fly. Among these cards, players may also find rare and valuable ones, like the coveted "Fast Pass", which allows you to bypass certain border restrictions, giving you a significant edge over the competition.

Staying alert and making the best use of these cards can make the difference between victory and defeat.

Every time a player visits a temple, they flip over a card to confirm their task completion and gain rewards.

In addition to the satisfaction of marking another temple visit off the list, players can collect obstacle cubes that they can use to block the routes of other players. This adds an important tactical layer to the game: not only do players need to pick the fastest and most efficient routes, but they must also protect their paths from being disrupted by others.

Players need to think ahead, balancing their progress with defensive tactics to ensure they don’t fall behind or lose momentum due to well-placed obstacles.

Once a player has visited all their assigned temples, they can begin their final dash back to Salt Lake City.

But don’t think the race is over yet!

The other players can still use their cards to delay or reroute the leading player, making it a dramatic finish to the game. The first player to reach Salt Lake City after completing their temple visits is crowned the winner and becomes the ultimate pioneer of this North American adventure.
