Housing Market Update v1.2

[p][/p][p]Hey everyone,[/p][p]This update expands the game’s money sinks and gives you something meaningful to work toward after winning or maxing out the MLS system. A few of you pointed out that progression hit a wall once you crossed the finish line. So this new update introduces personal property.[/p][p]The new My Property tab gives you two upgrade paths:[/p]
  • [p]Home upgrades - bigger and nicer, but increase the monthly mortgage expenses[/p]
  • [p]Office upgrades - flat fee to upgrade, but increases the monthly income[/p]
[p]And yes, you can absolutely wait until after you’ve hit $1,000,000 and cleared your income-vs-expenses requirement… or you can upgrade everything early and make winning way harder on yourself.[/p]

Patch Notes — v1.2
[p]New[/p]
  • [p]Added My Property tab[/p]
  • [p]Added home upgrades and office upgrades[/p]
[p]Changes[/p]
  • [p]Updated Win Game event text[/p]
  • [p]Updated Stats panel to include property stats[/p]
[p]Fixes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bug where shop upgrades appeared to reset when loading and advancing a month[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the bug that caused shop upgrades to sometimes reset to default values while increasing the cost of the upgrade[/p]

Going Forward
[p]With this update out, the game is shifting into maintenance mode to focus on the next project.[/p][p]Quick clarity: maintenance mode means support, patches, and fixes only — not abandonment. The game is considered complete on the development side, and I’ll still be here keeping it stable and playable.[/p][p]I’ll continue patching any issues that show up, so if you run into bugs, toss them here:[/p][p][/p][p]https://steamcommunity.com/app/4068560/discussions/0/661592926180484220/[/p][p][/p][p]

Update 1.1

Fixed typo (“batter” → “better”)

Added new MLS License System — purchase licenses to unlock higher upgrade tiers, similar to how real agents upgrade their licenses to access more listings and services. Each MLS license will allow three upgrades per license, except the last license, which allows maximum upgrades.

Added MLS subscription info to the Stats panel.

Added clearer win/lose requirement text.

Added a display for your $1,000,000 win goal in the Stats screen.

Added new win condition — rent profits now matter! To win, your passive income must be equal to or greater than your monthly expenses.

Fixed a bug that could cause a player to lose even after winning.

Fixed bug where matching a client to a property while in debt forced an instant failed game.

Fixed an issue that could cause upgrades or investments to carry over when starting a new game in the same session.

[p][/p]
FAQ
• [p]Will there be updates?
We’ll fix major issues and may add new content based on community feedback.[/p]
  • [p]Languages?
    English.[/p]
  • [p]Platform/OS?
    Windows (PC).[/p]
  • [p]Controller support?
    Mouse only.[/p]
  • [p]Who made this?
Mainly one developer (hello). I worked on the game while holding a full-time factory job, mostly on days off. It took about 4–5 months, with help from a few testers.[/p]
  • [p]Why a real-estate sim?
My sister worked in real estate for several years, and I once hooked up an MLS feed to a website. That experience inspired me to turn the concept into a game that captures the feel of managing real listings, just without the stress of real clients or the extra work that comes with the job. I found the gameplay loop surprisingly fun and thought others might enjoy it too, even if it’s a bit niche.
