A blessing or punishment only choices my laptop gave me.
Unlike every other dev, or rather the vast majority, who I went to ask money from but instead they rocketed me out… well now I got a crazy ass workstation (JOKING) 😂
But what isn’t a joke is my grandpa laptop. sobs
My laptop is from the era of 2013. To my future 100-years-later fans as well (that is… if Steam still exists), so you know how old it is.
I upgraded parts in it as much as I could, and it’s more than doing okay actually.

When making Nightfall, a lot of challenges happened. Like how large the scene should be, and if I should use Addressables to load the scene and unload it, which I did at one point. But that only increased the difficulty of setting up a killer that works in both scenes.
It’s a lot harder dealing with an indoor upstairs house, because you might want to make the player randomly hear the killer just doing his thing. With my current skill and time, I decided all parts should be in the same scene, and did a deep optimization. In fact, if I didn’t optimize, my system would crash… lol. Not lol though, those are tears.
On my system, with the recent post effect I made compared to the older one, my system goes around 15 to 30 FPS in HD mode. But when in free aspect ratio, it goes up to 50. Free aspect is like giving the system space to work to its capacity, but at HD my system is performing an upscaling since it does not support HD.
So I can beat my chest and say this game would run on any laptop with a GPU younger than mine. Which is AMD… and it’s no longer supported most of the time, crashes a lot, and I’m using a 2015 “last update” for stability.
Computers are out of the question. An Intel Pentium with a graphics card will play this thing way easier than my grandpa laptop.
Hope you enjoyed my chitchat. Thanks for reading, see you next time.
