Dropping Platforms, Fixes

Hello playtesters! In this update, the main feature is the addition of dropping platforms (and a pleasant little bobble when landing on platforms that don't drop) to both the Intro Level as a main feature in the platform jumping section, as well as in a few places for the Wastelands level.

Thanks to some helpful playtesters, there is also a fix that should keep dialog text from upgrade terminals from bleeding outside of the dialog window bounds in 16:10 and other nearly-16:9 aspect ratios, and several of the "input helper" pop-ups in the Intro Level now appear more quickly for better readability and less "what was that?" back tracking.

I've also reduced the HP of the most basic flying enemies back to "minion" status (1 hit to kill), along with a few other minor fixes.

There's not much of a chance to see it just yet, but eagle eyed players may spot some new shapes in the background of the Intro Level's boss room as well...as I have started early block-out for that level's boss! Hopefully more to come on that soon :)

Lost Controller Input: BUG FIX

For anyone currently experiencing a bug where you lose all control of the player after completing a dialog sequence at upgrade terminals -- I should have a fix for you here, and the latest game update will have a fix to avoid it from happening in the first place for new users.

The issue seems to have been an error in how the game creates a settings save-file when there is not already one present, along with the way that Unreal helpfully buries that .sav file deep within the hidden AppData folder within windows that is not always removed on uninstall.
If You Have Already Experienced The Bug
• Open the OPTIONS menu (from the main menu when the game loads, or from pausing the game with start or select on the gamepad, or enter on the keyboard and choosing "OPTIONS")
 • Select any controller mapping preset (Default, TYPE-A, TYPE-B, TYPE-C), even if it's the one you're already using
 • Click on "Accept", updating your options save file.

And that's it. Now when you complete dialog, the game should return you to your chosen gameplay-related input map set, as intended.

Welcome Playtesters!

Hello and welcome to all of the new playtesters that have come on board!

As you probably saw from the Steam page's latest news post, this is the beginning of very early development public playtesting!

This may be significantly earlier than many folks are used to seeing a game in a pre-release state, so I appreciate your patience and support as you play and give feedback on our road to a 2-level demo for the game.

As this game is in such an early stage of development, you will be seeing updates quite regularly, sometimes without a news post like this, but often with one when there are major changes or additions.

As mentioned in the main Store page news post, please be sure to share feedback, suggestions, bugs, and the like in the Rebel Core Playtest-specific Steam discussion boards, which you can find here:

Thank you so much for playing the game!

Intro Level Improvements

The intro level (accessed from "play game" on the main menu) now has a smoother experience with an updated intro video (that is now skippable), new music (that now syncs with and matches the intro video), and a direct warp to loading the Wastelands level after getting to the end of the level.

Still to come -- a boss fight for the end of both the Intro Level and the Wastelands level, public playtest signups....and once both levels are content complete -- a public demo!
