Update 1.5.7 released!

We apologize for the recent inconvenience caused by our multiplayer downtime, which affected the experience we aim to provide. Secondly, we extend our gratitude to all of you for your patience and encouragement. Your support during these stressful moments is truly invaluable.

Our team has completely reworked the multiplayer framework in just a few days time, in order to get everything up and running as soon as possible. Fingers crossed for a smooth transition!
Changelist
Fixed: connecting to the Liftoff Pro and multiplayer services!
 • Added: the option to save and apply custom rate profiles from the flight controller settings. These are saved game-wide, so you can save the rates for one drone setup and apply them easily unto a different one.
 • Fixed: Liftoff would crash if you armed your drone when having the throttle zero-point set all the way to 1.
 • Fixed: Joining a room by name wasn't possible if the roomname had the '-' in it (which all Liftoff rooms had by default)
 • Fixed: Multiplayer game moderators can't be kicked anymore by the game's host.
 • Fixed: Apply the framerate limit from the pause menu didn't apply immediately.
 • Fixed: A non-removable popup after changing your Liftoff Pro password in-game.
 • Fixed: missing ice lake textures in Surtur.
Special thanks to Jan!
Our job is to provide the best possible experience for our community, as such, keeping things in order is not something we would seek appreciation for. Nonetheless I feel it's worth giving a special thanks to Jan.

For the past five days, we've been receiving his "end of the workday" reports around 4 am at night (and later), indicating that he has been diligently working for 19 hours straight each day. His dedication to the Liftoff project and the community is exceptional. We feel fortunate to have such dedicated developers on our team.

Thank you, Jan! Enjoy some well-deserved free time :)

LuGus Fest

As the drone surveys the field,
Lugus' blessings are revealed,
The harvest bountiful and fine,
We give thanks to Lugus for this divine.

Each year we bring back the age old Lughnasadh harvest festivial, a celebration held on the first week of August, dedicated to the celtic god Lugus. Let's celebrate!

Find and harvest (activate) all LuGus cubes in a single environment during the LuGus festival event to unlock the time limited "LuGus Fest" achievement.

New environment: Permafrost

Our new Liftoff environment “Permafrost” is a cold winter wonderland brimming with interesting locations just waiting for FPV explorers like you to discover. Permafrost is now available for open beta testing, accessible to all Liftoff players!

Given the richness and complexity of Permafrost, as it pushes the boundaries in certain aspects, we want to thorough testing it before releasing it into the public version of the game.
Permafrost
Permafrost is the result of everything we've learned from our previous environment creations. It's massive, but packed with interesting content, making the journey from one location to another feel like an enjoyable adventure rather than a tedious task. Forest covered valleys and ridges hide all kinds of interesting things, both manmade and natural. Early playtests have demonstrated that after spending hours exploring the environment, players still discover new things each time they play. We are excited to see you uncover all Permafrost has to offer.
How to test
1. To get access to the Experimental Branch you have to change some “Properties” settings on Steam. To do this, follow these steps:
 2. Right click on “Liftoff: FPV Drone Racing” in your Steam Library
 3. Click “Properties”
 4. In the “Properties” menu, click the “BETAS” tab
 5. Select “Experimental Branch” in the dropdown menu
 6. Happy testing!

In order to switch back to the normal version of Liftoff, follow the same instructions, but instead of selecting “Experimental Branch” in the last step, select “NONE - Opt out of all beta programs”.

Multiplayer downtime

EDIT: ISSUE RESOLVED! *

Many of you may have noticed that the multiplayer and competitive features of Liftoff and Liftoff: Micro Drones are currently unavailable. We have been working non-stop, fueled by caffeine and a lot of determination, to bring these features back online as quickly as possible. However, we expect this to be a longer than usual downtime.
What happened?
To explain briefly, during a routine maintenance period of our service provider on their cloud platform, they removed a service that the Liftoff Pro and Liftoff multiplayer services were actively relying on, without any prior warning. The response from their technical support can be summarized as, "it's done, deal with it!"

That’s exactly what we are doing now. We're in the process of migrating our service to a more up-to-date environment with more control in our own hands, ensuring that this issue will not occur again in the future. While others may have failed us, we have no intention of letting our community down. Thus, we are working diligently to resolve this downtime as soon as possible.
Pro League tournament
We understand that this unexpected downtime has impacted the final hours of the first chapter in the Fixation Tournament. Rest assured, once our services are back online, we will extend the tournament for a few more days to ensure all participants have a fair opportunity to compete.
Not all doom and gloom
While our multiplayer feature is temporarily unavailable, we've got something incredible to keep your spirits soaring high! Introducing the open beta for Permafrost, our newest Liftoff environment, crafted with the purpose of sparking your sense of exploration and discovery. This test release is bound to keep you you busy for countless hours!
