The competitive scene of Liftoff is ramping up in 2020. We have the regular Liftoff Pro League tournaments, the French Rotor's Cool leagues and starting this year there will be a new Liftoff division within the German eSport Rhein-Neckar club (ERN).
The new division will start with a weekly flying / training in Liftoff (every Thursday at 18 pm) and will gradually expand to more initiatives such as:
  • Regular local Liftoff tournaments
  • Tiny Whoop style activities
  • Setting up a "crafting corner"
  • Countless other projects.

Update 1.2.3 released!

The first in a series of updates that will drastically increase the number of official tracks in Liftoff. Can you master them all?

Changelist:
  • Adding 27 new, never before seen, official racetracks (created by DerHonk and Bomba). Note: not new environments
  • Created new backend system to continue to support massive amounts of Leaderboard data.
  • Improved the parts and frame specs shown in the Workbench
  • Fixed an issue with the connection between Liftoff and the Liftoff Discord channel
  • Minor bugfixes

New backend system

When we first launched the Track Builder with the Steam Workshop integration we expected to see a few custom tracks from the community every year. More than 4000 custom tracks later, we realise we had underestimated our community.

Due to the huge amounts of leaderboards (4 leaderboards per track), we are running into the limits of the number of leaderboards we can create on Steam. We've now expanded our Liftoff Pro backend system to host these leaderboards, and have migrated them from Steam to our platform. This gives us an unlimited amount of leaderboards, and the freedom to keep the monthly leaderboards for our own, new tracks and races.
