Forts Update 1.29

G'day Forts fans!


Has it been two months already?

Today's update features balancing of Buster. His depleted uranium (DU) projectiles can now be blocked by 3 layers of armour, or 1 layer for Heavy Mortars and Thunderbolt bombs. On the other hand, they are more potent, including some bonus damage to weapons.

The Harpoon and its Decoy ammo have also received some adjustments. The Decoy projectile now doesn't collide with other projectiles, including missiles, but its effective radius is much reduced. It can also be destroyed with Firebeams and manipulated with Magnabeams. The Smoke Bomb is now less hazardous to your health, producing a smoke cloud of only 3 seconds when destroyed.

We've made some quality of life improvements, including better controls of the console and having new lobby popups appear during replays. The options screen can now be accessed from instant replay.

For modders, the ammo system has been extended to some important weapon parameters such as FireDelay and FireStdDev.

There are some important bug fixes such as a join desync, physics destabilisation, and several crashes.

FPL - Season 4 Grand Final - WINNERS!

EtaN and Dranistian (team Greenleaf veteran) went the distance in a series of heavily contested games against Runner-up Gunners United. (MVP Der Benzinpreisvergleicher and Kriegseule) rallied down 1-3 facing elimination to level the match and force a deciding game 7. And after winning the first game of their Bronze matchup, team GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAT (butterdog and Gengar) were declared the winners when Cannons Winner were disqualified. Forts Ranked Multiplayer - Season 31 Champions!

G'day Forts fans!


Congratulations to klaualles, winner of Season 31. Capping off a stellar year in which they also won FPL S3 (with partner I am myself) and Tournament XXIX. Notching their 3rd Silver is Poolboy, and taking Bronze is another familiar face, I am myself.

While the top 3 places receive Gold, Silver, and Bronze, every player finishing within the top 20 will receive a Season 30 Medal. Congratulations to all medalists as well!

Season 31 trivia:
  • Split lives up to its name with the playerbase divided between doubling down on missiles vs instantly selling them off
  • Overdrive's popularity has surged with the update but OD optimized builds are still in their infancy
  • While the AA improvements have definitely been felt, a critical mass of mortars still wins matches
  • 20mm have always been ubiquitous, except now they're winning too, particularly with Hurricane

Forts Update 1.28

G'day Forts fans!


This update introduces some changes to the chat system. We have decided to give you the tools to deal with those few salty players. There is already an avoidance system, but we have now added the option of muting specific players, including mid-game (press F6 to access this). Also added is an option to receive chat from Steam friends only, for the safety of young commanders.

There's also a bunch of other quality of life improvements. This includes the ability to toggle and enter team-only chat from the lobby prompt rather than the console only. Open lobbies in the lobby selection screen show the currently selected map. A new 'Lock forts' lobby setting allows the host to lock teams independently of players being able to select their own fort. As a bonus, lobby settings are now saved between sessions.
