Update: Improved Lasers, HUD, and Payload Mechanics

Hello everyone,

This is a quick update before we release the demo.

  • Deployed lasers are now more useful: they will rotate horizontally to target Failbots in range. They will resume their rotation if there are no targets available.

  • HUD is more informative now: you can see the cooldown of your abilities and the type of deployables you have in the level. It will also display the weights of objects you're carrying.

  • We have added two new features to the payload mode:
    1. The rail is now holographic and it will change its color depending on wagon location: it will be orange by default, but the part behind the wagon will turn blue.
    2. The wagon has a new boost button which will quadruple its speed for 5 seconds in exchange for 15 deposited points. When boosted, the wagon will keep going even when you're outside its movement sphere. You can send the wagon ahead while you are taking care of other things.

Finishing a payload level will deactivate Failbot spawns, leaving you alone to finish the remaining puzzles or exit the level when ready.

  • Axis inversion is now included for both the mouse and gamepads.

  • The (?) cost of Floe's overclock upgrade is now 50 instead of 60.

  • There's also a new puzzle element: direction changing rotators. This feature was created for the demo levels, but it will be introduced to the original game in the future map packs.

  • Pistons are now color-coded too. Their glow will change color depending on whether they are in motion.

  • The `Failbots 101' window will be text only for the moment. The videos have been disabled temporarily due to errors they produce on different machines.
