BIG SAF Development Update!

Big Announcement :/

Hey guys, we have an important announcement to make this week, and it is in regards to the future of Super Arcade Football...

We've been talking it over, and we think that the current direction we are going with SAF is not the right one. In the past few months we have put too much focus on the whole 3D aspect of the game; Adding in the stadiums, crowd, new camera modes etc, and all this has made the game feel more like it is being geared towards a much bigger project, and one that would take many many months to complete. We feel this has detracted from the original vision we had of the game, which was more of a pure, simple arcade soccer experience. And so we want to return to this original concept.

Before the project balloons any further, and turns into something completely unmanageable, we have decided to scale down this new release. We've stripped out the things we think were not working to our liking (The crowd, stadium etc) and are now going to focus entirely on gameplay for the time-being. All features remain the same, you can still play online, create teams, play tournaments, export replays etc. It's mainly the visuals and controls that have been stripped back. This version also brings with it some much needed optimisations for loading times, frame rate performances, as well as bug fixes.

We're also going to take a break for a few months, as this was not an easy decision to make. After working on this project for so long (those of you who've been with us since the beginning know more than anyone how long it's been ːsteamsadː) we think we need a pause so we can come back to the project with fresh eyes.

We will of course leave the previous version of SAF on a different branch. If you wish to play that verision, you can access it by going to:

SuperArcadeFootball -> Properties -> BETAS and type in the code:
SuperArcadeFootball

We really appreciate the support you guys have given us, seriously, and this is not a decision we take lightly. But ultimately we want to make a great game, and think this is best course of action for everyone.

It's not over, it's just half-time.

Speak soon.
