96% rated survival game Abiotic Factor is going up in price, so get it cheap now

While some might be scouring for the next drop of Half-Life 3 news, I've moved on. Valve's defining, epochal sci-fi FPS may one day return, but Abiotic Factor is already delivering what I actually want from a scientific fight for my life against mysterious, alien threats. Drawing clear inspirations from the tales of Gordon Freeman, the co-op survival game is preparing to hit 1.0 in the summer - but its price will be increasing before then, developer Deep Field Games confirms, so take this last chance to grab it at its cheapest while you can.

Abiotic Factor's next update brings in an upgrade system, a chilly new zone, and best of all, functioning bins

Right, anybody fancy a new Abiotic Factor update? Well, it's not ready just yet, but developer Deep Field Games did share a look at the game's upcoming Cold Fusion update that looks like it'll be a beefy one. As you can probably guess by the title of the update, there's a bit of a chill coming, specifically in a new area called the Residence Sector. This new locale has "something" going on that's making it a bit too cold for anyone to hang out in, though the mystery behind it is something you'll likely have to play to discover.

Despite continued rumors, I'm not prepared to hold my breath for a Half-Life 3 announcement quite yet. But Valve's epochal series lives on in spirit with the magnificent Abiotic Factor, a boisterous survival game that draws inspiration from the worth of Black Mesa and Aperture Science. Boasting a spectacular 96% Steam review score - earning it the elusive 'overwhelmingly positive' rating - it's one of the best co-op games in recent years, and developer Deep Field Games is gearing up for its departure from early access with the first big reveal of its next update, Cold Fusion.
