Plan B Conclusion & Development Update
Hello everyone!
We have good news, our Plan B applications have concluded and, for about half a month now, we've been slowly picking up pace in development and things are looking to be going smoothly from now on!

Plan B Conclusion

We have received many applications for various positions and thank you to everyone for their application.
We took our time to review all the applications and select those that fit our needs (including various positions such as voice acting, modelling, texturing and composing).

Every new member has settled in on the team and now we're all ready to start making significant progress.

Development Update

Things have started to slowly pick up the pace and we expect everything to start moving forward in the development.

After a few modifications and polishing to our story due to the change of team members, we have finally settled down the story into its final iteration with potential further developments coming. Other crucial aspects of development are, also, starting to reach their final form.

While we're still not ready to announce an official release date, we have a rough idea of when it could be.
The official release date will be announced in our official trailer (not teaser trailers or videos), but, until then, no release date is set or official.

Linux Support Update

We have exciting news for Linux users!

We have successfully got a Linux build working on Steam! We haven't had the chance to fully test it, but for the most part, it should be working.

Unless we run into some complications, Destroyed Aperture will have Linux support on its release!

macOS Support Conclusion

As for macOS users, it's bad news.

We're officially dropping support for macOS due to macOS dropping support for 32-bit applications. There's nothing we can do about it unless Valve decides to update Portal 2 to support macOS' 64-bit requirements.

That's it!

That's all we have for you for now.
You can look forward to some exciting teasers and sneak peeks!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
Here it is, the end of the 2010s!
Time goes fast! We've been developing Destroyed Aperture since 2015 already, which has been exactly 1724 days! Our mod is about to be in development for a whopping 5 years already!
Thank you everyone for the support you've shown us throughout the years as well as on our latest announcements and our Teaser Trailer (2019) we uploaded a month ago on our YouTube channel. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet!

Store Page
Our store page is now public again!
It has been previously hidden because we had some issues with our previous publisher. Since then our store page has been in a hidden state which we couldn't get out of, so we got in contact with Valve and they resolved the issue for us.
Go ahead and add the mod to your wishlist to be instantly notified through Steam when Destroyed Aperture launches.
As for a release date, we won't mention anything yet. We will reveal the release date once we're 100% sure that the game is ready for a set date, not before.

Subreddit
Destroyed Aperture now has its very own official subreddit!
We have created a subreddit page for Destroyed Aperture, feel free to subscribe to it if you wish!

Linux Support
We have good news for Linux users!
It is very much possible that Destroyed Aperture will be available for Linux after all! We will follow up on this matter in future announcements, but it's looking good for Linux support!

Plan B Applications
Our applications will close on the 5th of January!
We will be closing our applications on the 5th of January, up until then you're still free to send us an email with your application!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

Hello everyone!
The Christmas holidays have just begun and we, the Destroyed Aperture Team, wish you happy and calm holidays, merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Plan B

About two months ago we released an announcement about our commencement of our so-called "Plan B".
To recap, "Plan B" was a necessary move for us, as we have had issues with some developers that we have failed to get in contact with. One factor of Plan B was also recruiting new people on the team.

We've received many emails of applications and thank you all thoroughly.
The applications are still open up to 5th of January, after which we'll start going over the applications and recruiting people that fit our needs for the mod. This is the last chance to try and apply for a position in the Destroyed Aperture Team, so if you haven't done already and want to, then now is the time to do so!

To apply, send an email to:
[email protected]

If you have already applied, be sure to check your email regularly after the 5th of January, as we will be sending out emails to all applicants letting them know of our decision.

Read more about Plan B here!

Availability on macOS & Linux
macOS
We have some unfortunate news for the macOS users.
Destroyed Aperture, unfortunately, won't be available on this operating system due to macOS dropping support for 32-bit applications.
If Valve updates Portal 2 to support macOS 64-bit, we'll try to bring Destroyed Aperture to macOS as well, but as of now, nothing is guaranteed.
Linux
As for Linux users, we're still unsure.
There have been rumours about Linux dropping 32-bit support, as well, but it hasn't been confirmed yet. We'll keep you updated.

That's it, for now!

Thank you for reading through this announcement.
Once again, we wish you happy holidays, merry Christmas and a happy new year!

News regarding "Plan B"

Hello everyone.

Our "Plan B" that we have talked about in our previous announcement is now a reality. Unfortunately, we've been left with no other option but to kick the non-active team members off the team, which means we'll be looking for new people that would be interested to use their talent (voice acting, modelling, SFM animating, particle design, model animating) for Destroyed Aperture. The development will take slightly longer because of this, but we hope you understand.

Positions we're currently looking for
  • Voice Actors
  • Modellers
  • SFM Animators
  • Particle Designers (preferably if you're experienced with Source Engine, but not required)
  • Model Animators
  • Anything else you might have to offer
Please note that, if you decide to apply, we'll require an example of your previous work. Everyone is free to apply for any talent they have, we'll take a look at every application and select the best ones that fit our needs. If you have friends or are in contact with people that are interested in trying out working for a project, let them know!

But it is important to keep in mind that we're a team of hobbyist, this isn't our full-time job, thus we can't afford to pay.
You can apply in the comments OR send us an email to the address down below.
[email protected]
If you decide to send us an email, be sure to include some contact details in it so we can contact you in case you're selected (such as Steam profile, Discord, etc).

That's it!

That's all for now, thank you for taking the time to read this.

2019 Development Update

Hello everyone.

We apologise for being quiet for the past 8 months, but don't worry! That doesn't mean we've stopped the development, not at all!

We are dedicated, thus we still plan on finishing the mod and releasing it on Steam, and we always will.

So, what have we been up to?

In the past 8 months we've had difficulty trying to reach out to some of the developers and we're still trying, if we don't manage it, we'll have to use a so-called "Plan B", which will require us to look for new team members and will, most likely, take us significantly more time to finish the mod, but as said, we will definitely release it eventually.
The work from these developers is necessary for the mod, and it's what has been holding us back.

If we do end up taking our "Plan B", you could be the new team member if you have what it takes!

Who will we be looking for?
  • SFM Animator
  • Voice Actors
  • 3D Modellers (includes rigging)
  • ...and dedication

Note: We require a showcase of your previous work if you decide to apply.

The list may not be complete, we will make an announcement if "Plan B" becomes a reality with the full list of who we'll be looking for.

If you have any of these skills and you are volunteering to participate on this project, feel free to already apply in the comments!
But, do note that, at this time, we don't guarantee you a place on the team.

Our current progress

In terms of progress, we've been doing progress on the mapping process. Most maps got a few adjustments and improvements, further bug fixes, detail improvements and a few changes. One map got a complete rework, it is still WIP so we won't reveal any screenshot just yet, but as soon as it's ready, it'll be posted in the #sneak-peeks channel on our Discord server! Join it if you haven't already!

But, here are some latest screenshots!

And here's a little teaser. :)
