A Month of Lord of Rigel

Greetings Lords of Rigel, it's been a month since release and we wanted to highlight some new content from the last update, some of the quality of life updates planned next, and a overview of the quality of life and balance adjustments done over this past month thanks to your feedback and support.

To begin with this update added a new leader skill, starcharts, and a new leader Nimak the Abastur Starfarer who for a cost can reveal systems as explored.


Planned continued content in the near future includes new leaders and some new technologies.

As for the next focus on quality of life updates, additional information in the ship designer including weapon cooldowns and how they're effected by various modifications and a tooltip breakdown of how effective a weapon's damage is against shields, armor, structure, and internals. This will be coming over October.

  • Cloning center calculation adjustment
  • Reduced advanced weapon coil bonus
  • Increased chance of aggressive AI attacking instead of blockading
  • Increase beam weapon accuracy in tactical
  • Inertial stabilizer-nullifier exclusive
  • Reduced PD projectile lifespan
  • Elder species threshold reduced to 4 from 6
  • NAPs don't trigger blockade

Lord of Rigel Start of Fall: Let's Play and Upcoming Updates

Greetings Lords of Rigel, thanks to your feedback and support over the past few weeks numerous issues have been resolved including balance and quality of life updates, performance enhancements, and critical issues.

To show the game to new players, is a let's play of about an hour in a large spiral galaxy as the Katraxi facing off against piracy and preparing to face the Tulock threat:

Based on your comments in the boards and Discord, there's a few planned quality of life updates for October.

Planned Updates:
  • Self destruct timer in tactical
  • Warpout timer based on drive type in tactical
  • Building best tech only filter (for linear upgrades- Starbases, Planetary Shields, Warp Infrastructure)
  • Updates to ship designer- deleting existing ship designs in menu pulldown, and weapon cooldown info.
