Producer's Note #13
It has been a while since server merges were discussed and enthusiastically announced. Due to the challenges we had to face during and after the backend migration, the topic of server consolidation fell somewhat into the background.
We are all the more pleased to announce that we have not been idle over the past few months and have been working on a concept together with community representatives. Now, as the first test merges look promising, we would like to provide you with more detailed information.
The goal of the server merges is clear. After 14 years, naturally older servers are not as active and by merging these servers we hope to ensure more rivalry and activity in the daily gameplay for the players who are still active there.
Concept
Next, we briefly introduce our concept. Both technical aspects and aspects to ensure fair competition have been taken into account:
General

Character Names
In the case of multiple characters with the same name, these characters will be renamed. The following conditions apply:
Guilds
Guilds will be transferred, provided there are still members after the character deletion (see above), but they must have a unique name.
If several guilds have the same name, these guilds will be renamed and can be renamed once by the guild leader.
The guild's honor corresponds to the old honor, but can be at most as high as the smallest honor value of a migrated top-1 guild.
If a guild leader is deleted, the officer with the highest level becomes the new guild leader; if there are no/further officers, the guild member with the highest level becomes the new guild leader.
Hall of Fame

Communication
On servers where a merge is imminent, a pop-up will be displayed daily for a certain period, pointing out the server merge. In addition, there will be an in-game message.
On the day of each server merge, a world will be frozen at midnight. As soon as the work in the background is completed, the characters on the new server will be released again.
Which servers will be merged?
We will initially merge all US servers and the Canadian server. This is likely to happen at the end of July.
We will merge the aforementioned servers in a test merge, with the origin servers remaining parallel so that a data comparison is possible.
Creating a new character will not be possible on the new server during the test.
Important! We reserve the right to make changes to the concept if it should be necessary for compelling reasons!
Concept
Next, we briefly introduce our concept. Both technical aspects and aspects to ensure fair competition have been taken into account:
General
- Any number of servers can be merged.
- All characters will be transferred to a new server, the following rules apply:
- For each origin server, one character can be played on the merged server.
- Characters below level 10, which have not been active for a year and for which no money has been spent, will be deleted.
Character Names
In the case of multiple characters with the same name, these characters will be renamed. The following conditions apply:
- The character's name can be renamed once at the first login according to the usual rules.
- The rename is possible by using the old character data + old game world for a certain period of time to log in. If a character is connected to an S&F account, the login is done via this.
- The calculation for the Heroes' Hall of Fame is as follows: Honor/2, but at most as high as the honor value of the top-1 player of an old server with the lowest honor value.
- For all other Halls of Fame, the honor of the old server is adopted.
- The income that can be earned per day through Hall of Fame battles is limited to 100 million gold to prevent abusive behavior when multiple characters of a player have been moved.
